I hear on ClixSense a lot about People talking about their Sponsors? What exactly are Sponsors and what do they do and why do we have them?

Yes, michael_dg is correct.
Your Sponsor or your Referrer is the member who offered ClixSense Program to you and you are his/her referral.
You can go to My Account and check who is your Sponsor there:
My Sponsor Details:
Sponsor Name
Sponsor Email

at other GPT they are called referrers ,at :clixsense: are " Sponsors " ,

a sp0ns0r earns commissions from his referrals (clicking- purchasing),

a sp0ns0r can upgrade his own referrals , purchasing an upgrade for a referral with account funds or payment processors from his account panel,

a sp0ns0r can send messages from his account panel to his referrals ,

you can know your sp0ns0r if he exists , from " Account Summary " under " My Sponsor Details "

and you can know your referrals from " Affiliates " menu

Edit :

As valerie said:

Sponsor, Sponser, whatever
just edited to make it $p0n$0r, instead of Sponser

It does not matter if you were referred by someone or not.
You are a member and you can earn just like all members can earn.

By the way 'michael_dg', it is inappropriate to make fun of someone's spelling on here.
Sponsor, Sponser, whatever, we know what the member was asking. Just for the record,
many members do not speak/write English very well. In addition, some times people stress
different pronunciation when speaking which can result in mis-spelling. Also, it's easy to make
a typo when typing in a little box at a forum.

NO we do not allow sponsor changes, the only way we will do this is if your current sponsor is suspended or their account is closed/inactive.

It's up to the management of ClixSense to determine whether or not a sponsor change will be permitted.

Please do not write in asking to change your sponsor if you know they are active, because you will not get a reply.

I didn't really get what you wanted to point, so ... I was talking about a notifications that appeared a few weeks ago, maybe 2 weeks... And they said they will ignore all the future asks regarding this.

Nothing confusing the announcement is

Members, we have been completely overwhelmed with change of sponsor requests. Please be sure to familarize yourself with our policies on the changing of sponsors here:

About: User Agreement - ClixSense

Please note that ANY further requests to change a sponsor will be ignored and not completed. This has totally gotten out of hand and it has to stop!

ClixSense Support

Which states in the User Agreement

Sponsor Changes - The changing of or removing an affiliate sponsor is not permitted. The management of ClixSense may at it's discretion allow the changing of a sponsor, IF and only if the affiliate does not have a sponsor assigned or the current sponsor has been inactive for more than 90 days. There are no exceptions to this rule.
