Just want to point out two more corrections.

Hong Kong: Cantonese speakers tend to interchange L and N sounds, but N is the initial consonant of the second character below.
新年快樂 (pronounced “sun neen fai lok”)

Japan: has two sets of new year’s greetings depending on the date alone.
December – よいお年を (yoi otoshi o)
January 1 onwards – 明けましておめでとうございます (akemashite omedetou gozaimasu)
