LMAO!! My honeybunny wanted me to call in to his work today. His first ooops on Friday the 13th. ;)

I stay glued at home and don't take on any different tasks, don't call anyone, and just do "ordinary" things cuz I've been whammied several F13's.

Does anyone here do anything differently? Have any good luck talisman's or sayings?

Well I always do my best not to walk under a ladder.
I especially don't like a black cat to cross my path on Friday the 13th.
I'm not superstitious per se but some times you hear superstitions so much,
you go ahead and avoid those things....just in case.

I'm going to tell you a true story that happened in my presence many years ago.

One time I was at this sort of a convention and it had a lot of windows.
Most the people there I knew in one way or another but most I did not know real well.
There was one lady I was talking to and she was not right next to me as everyone was
walking around and such. She was standing over beside a window that was right above
her head. I was some feet away but we were communicating. All of a sudden, a bird
flew in the window where she was standing and flew right past her head. She screamed,
then everyone was trying to shoo the bird out. I walked over next to that lady and ask
her if she was alright...she was holding her chest. She said 'yes, that was a black bird'.
I said yes I think you're right, it is some sort of a black bird. I'll never forget the look
she gave me, and she said 'if a black bird fly's in your window, that means you are going
to die'. She was serious too! I said something like 'I never heard of that but it's just
an old tale' and I laughed. She did not laugh. Some weeks passed and I was talking
with a co-worker one day and she said hey you remember so and so and I said yes I
saw her at the convention a few weeks ago. The co-worker said 'Really? well she died
a few weeks ago'. I am about fell out of the chair I was sitting in. I couldn't believe it.
The first thing I thought of was that bird that flew in the window and what she had said
to me. Come to find out, she had died exactly 3 days later after that incident. They
said she had a heart attack and died very suddenly altho she had never been diagnosed
with any heart problems.

That happen a very long time ago ... probably about 25 years ago. I've never forgotten it.

Was the bird really a warning to her? Was the bird really trying to let her know that she
did not have long to live? Was it truly a real sign for her? She believed that, so maybe
it was God's way of letting her know. Or could it be she believe that so much that it
took a toll on her and caused her to have a heart attack? Who knows! It was just so
very very weird.

Oh lordy!

To be honest, I think at times we humans tend to *overthink*...and that leads to our failing one way or another. I know it is a fact we can literally scare ourselves to death. The mind can be a very dangerous thing if left unchecked.

In this lady's case, she very well could have been letting it rule her, and thought about nothing but that bird and the omen.

Sad though. And a bit spooky. ;)

That was kind of scary.. I'm glad I live on urban where there are no black birds..

BTW, what will happen if you walk under a ladder on Friday the 13th?

I don't know what will happen when you walk under a ladder on Friday the 13th, because I never have and I figure I won't start now. I guess you are suppose to get 7 years bad luck or something similar to breaking a mirror.

I found this in google search...things not to do on Friday the 13th:

Break a mirror
Kill a bee in your house
Walk under a ladder
Cross your eyes
Clip your nails
Cut your toenails
Cut your hair
Drop an umbrella inside
Open an umbrella inside
Step on a crack
Walk past a black cat
Spill salt
Singing before eating breakfast
Get out of bed with your left foot first
See 3 butterflies fly together
Putting a hat on your bed
Going outside barefoot
Finding a five leaf clover

I have open an umbrella inside our house.. I think it is not true but I guess there is no harm on believing on it either..

I think it has something to do psychologically.. They said if you didn't know all about those things, it is better to stay that way. Coz if you know all about it and still you do it, it will hunt you.. OOpss, I have just knew it..

I don't pay any attention to it, really I don't. But some people take that sort of thing to heart.
