In my opinion it is psychological reasons. When it comes to money people tend to be less transparent.

( *carefully looks around* )

... when at work, hide the stats...

...so the boss doesn't sneak behind you, and find out what you're really earning...

Exactly.
Why should anyone else be interested in what the other person is earning?

Because when you're part of a community and earning, most curious people want to know how they stack up compared to others.

Many successful members are bombarded with queries about how they managed to earn so much or how they managed to refer tons of people.
Moreover, if someone does not wish to show his/her stats, we should respect their privacy. Some don't want to boast about their huge earnings while some are too shy to show that they haven't earned a decent amount of money.

My reason before is to inspire downlines.. Maybe if they see me in the forums knowing that I am active and showing my earnings, they would be active and refer others as well.. :D

But I just realized it is better for it to be hidden, leaving them something to wonder how much my earnings is.. :D

Well, I feel every one should display the stats. This will help and show others how real CLIX SENSE is and paying. Lets try this for few months and if you guys think it made no difference(for self and your team+CLIX SENSE) then every one go back to hide mode. :) :clixsense:

I think many don't bother to set their profile options. Because often as you can see, they will
post their payout proofs, but their profile won't be set to display earnings.

I don't hide my stats because it doesn't matter to me. I have nothing really to hide. I do think that stats are misleading, though.

Your stats say that you have earned over $4,000.00 but that is over a period of 5 or 6 years. Basically, you have earned about $50.00 to $60.00 a month over that time. Hardly an income to live off of for a family .. or even a single person. But the stats look a lot better giving the total.

I feel the same on the banners that give totals and on my stats. I noted on post in this forum that wanted to know how I had made over $200.00 in ClixSense. The person saw the total and assumed it was for a month instead of over 5 years. Yes, it is their fault that they don't do the math, but it is the stats that lead to the wrong conclusions.

Maybe "misleading" isn't the right word. I don't know what word(s) would be right. Half truths? I could honestly say that I have made over a million dollars ... and not bother to tell you that this is over my lifetime of working. If you do not ask for the time length, am I telling you a lie?

This is just me and the way I see it. To each their own.

And, Yes, ClixSense tells people that ClixSense is not a "get rich quick scheme". I understand that much.

I don't think it's misleading at all. Because there is nothing there that says I have made
over $4000 in a day. It says I have earned over $4,000 period. It is also mighty easy to
see from the stats, that I have been a member since Feb. 27, 2007. I don't think anyone
could get confused about that.

There are some banners out there that do display earnings in regards to some programs
as ClixSense does not have any banners yet that display earnings. But here again, some
of those just say 'I have earned $__' and does not give the impression of a minute, day,
week, month, years.

Yes, I guess you do the average as I have made a post here before about that. I think I
said if I were to reach $4,500 by Feb 27th which is the my join date, I will have averaged
$900 per year. (ClixSense has been online 5 years this month and I've been a member
5 years this month)

Unlike maybe NeoBux in which people are hoping to make thousands of dollars in profits
a month, ClixSense does not play that way and never has. No one is going to get rich
at ClixSense but then again.....guess you would have to define what rich means to you.
For some people, an extra $50 a month can be very rich for them. For others, $50 is
not worth bending over to pick up off the ground.

I also posted an approximate of my earnings from year to year. The first year, it was
around $500 and the second year, I think it went up a tad. The third year was a good
increase, 2011 it went up significantly. Even tho there always seems to be inactives,
my earnings in ClixSense always seems to grow every year.

I am glad that you feel that way. True, the stats do not state a time period. That leaves much up to assumption. In the post I referred to, the person was amazed that I had made over $200.00 with no referrals. I have to wonder if the person assumed that was a month, year, or since I joined ClixSense.

Either way, you see it your way and I see it mine.
