Why do people hide their stats

Kreacher wrote: I am glad that you feel that way. True, the stats do not state a time period. That leaves much up to assumption. In the post I referred to, the person was amazed that I had made over $200.00 with no referrals. I have to wonder if the person assumed that was a month, year, or since I joined ClixSense.

Either way, you see it your way and I see it mine.

Hi Kreacher,

You seem to have fantastic stats but no referrals?

How did u do it?

I don't know Kreacher. I guess that is why a lot of people do not understand things they join,
they don't read. It plainly displays that you have been a member since July 18, 2009...which
means you have been a member what....over 2.5 years.

Even if someone does not read well, I think if they see I have earned over $4,000 they would
take a closer look if they are curious enough to wonder about it....which then should catch their
eye that I am a member since 27th of Feb. 2007.

I've already gotten rich online. :P

I'm not here to get rich and I'm not here to fool anyone. I'm here to make extra money, help
others make extra money, and have a lot of fun while doing it. :P I just can't see how displaying
your stats to members in the forum is the least bit misleading.

:) I've been clicking since July of 2009. That's about 7 dollars a month average.

I'm not here to get rich either. I must say that my expectation when joining and the results of my labors have not been the same. I expected more than I got.

It's been my experience that people often do not read, but they assume very well. My forum stats state:

Member Since 18 Jul 2009
Likes Given 8
Likes Received 32/19
Balance $4.91
Earned $212.99
Referrals 0

Now surely in such a money making thing as a PTC I have made more that a measly $212.99 in 2 plus years, right? That must be for a month, since the timespan is not noted and it's just impossible to think that someone would remain here making such a small amount.

Now, if the stats said "Earned $212.99 since 18 Jul 2009", it would be more accurate and leave little to be assumed, or determined by "logic" (or lack thereof).

Maybe it's not so much here, but in other forums and in promoting PTC, including ClixSense, I've read a lot of posts and advertisements that, while not lies, left a lot to be imagined and had steering in place to cause erroneous assumptions. I often feel like I'm reading a "Used Car Sales pitch". - "Yes sir, the engine runs just fine (considering it has 500,000 miles on it and we've doctored it up. Probably won't last a week.)".

All I'm saying is that stats can be misunderstood depending on the circumstances, situation and/or person.

As a side: Why don't you show the number of referrals you have?

Without having referrals, I don't think $215 is bad even tho you have been a member over two years.
Any way you look at it, it's extra money and it is profits.

I have posted the number of referrals I have several times, in images, etc. I know if I display my refs
in forum display stats, I'll get a lot of questions. I have about 115 direct active referrals with about 40 of those
directly upgraded. And I have about 13,000 active referrals in my organization.

Why do you hide how many Referrals you have? But in Posts you say how many?

I guess I really have not thought about it mutchy126, one way or another.
When the forum launched, after some days, I went into my profile and set so members
could see what I have earned. Referrals yoyo. One day I may have 100 active and the
next 90 active and the next day 110 active and the next day 130 active.

Just like the post above, I said I have about 13,000 actives in my organization. Well now
I have about 14,500 actives in my organization. Someone wants to ask, I don't mind
telling them. However, I am considering hiding my earnings now too.

I wonder how much are your earnings, mutchy.
Honestly I was quite surprised to see your "1st payout" last week while your having almost 1000 forum posts until now :D

I do show my earnings and number of refs cause I think these two help other members here when reply on my posts.

In the past, I have been turning my Earnings into :clixsense: Ad Credits. But on Monday, I decided I want some cold hard cash this time! :D

Has anyone considered that people just don't know how to "update - change" their forum profile?
It might not occur to them that the forum settings are on the main website and not in the forum.
I am a member of many forums and the settings are usually in the forum itself. ;)
