Zorin seems to be based on Ubuntu. Looks like Gnome desktop with some mods to look more like Windows. Maybe it has a version of wine to handle the Windows programs pre installed.
I agree that once one has tried Linux in whatever distribution and gotten use to it, they will probably like it. I still use Windows 7 for my main system, but that is what came with it. IF I ever have to buy a new computer, I intend to have no OS on it at all. I'll install what I want ... and that will be some distro of Linux.
