An SMS sent by ICICI confirming that ICICI Bank Debit Card can be used on PayPal for making purchases

I read a topic on NeoBux where a user posted that he was successful in paying through PayPal through his ICICI Bank VISA Debit Card. So I am simply posting the relevant screen-shots with a little explanation.



PayPal charges the Debit card for $1.95
Note the 4 digit PayPal code.


Now enter the 4 digit PayPal code to confirm your Debit Card.

Now try sending a payment and you'll see that it works

Hi Ptc..Help me understand this a little more in your transaction initially ,I see you have used your debitcard to generate the 4 digitcode ,however in the last line of the transaction I see there is a transaction from your creditcard does this mean you have used both cards (Dr/Cr) to get this done , Guess unlike the cr card for the Dr card the Pay pal account asks for trasactions to be done(money to be transferred) to prove the authenticity of the holder..correct me if I am wrong.

First of all its not my PayPal-ICICI screenshot. I got this info from a topic on NeoBux so I decided to post it here.

The transaction in the last line from the PayPal screen-shot is from the same "Debit" card. All transactions have been done through the same ICICI Visa Debit Card.

To make things simple, all transactions on PayPal made using any (Credit/Debit/Prepaid) Card are shown as if they are done through "Credit Card".

Yesterday I have added my Axis Bank debit card in Paypal. And it worked. I got the 4 digit code in the statement which they send for verification.

Mine is Axis bank Titanium Master Card (Debit card). Donno if it works for visa...

So, I can hope that it works with SBI Visa Debit Card

I successfully verified my Axis card (Axis titanium Reward Mastercard) but I never used it.

If u have any info about "buying with debit" in future - please share



And my name is 28 in length - can it fit on PAN card?

I think when you are able to verify you will also be able to buy.. Its the same thing...

No idea buddy.. 28 letters on Pan Card is what I have never seen any till now..

My Pan is now with 27 chars with a space missing b/w two words
This resulted my Pan to be invalid at PayPal because it did not match my name on bank acc#
Now, I've to apply for modification of pan to 28 letters - so asking whether its possible for 28

You should have try sending them a support e-mail saying that it was just a matter of a space and the whole name is right.. May be they react positively..

I mailed them saying so.
They have called me and said that according to RBI regulations the name should match at bank,pan and paypal account.

oopss...

anyways.. try changing ur name on PAN card.. thats the only thing possible now if they allow 28 chars on PAN card..
