What new movies are you waiting to see?

Locked

#1 by valerie » Fri Mar 23, 2012 13:04

I'm wanting to see 'Snow White and The Huntsman'. I really like the actress Charlize Theron, she's a great actress.
Also I like those type of fantasy movies, the swords and whole nine yards.

Another movie I am waiting to see is 'The Help'. I am guessing it will be on pay per view soon. I watch many of the
newer movies on Dish satellite...it's just I have to wait till they come on there. :(

Are there some new movies you are waiting to see?

Why dont you download the movies, instead of waiting to pay. I can se The Help is available on torrent sites, you could be watching the movie in 30 minutes ;)

Im sorry if I break any rules, but I saw you talking about watching movies on pirate streaming sites, so I hope talking about downloading is fine to.

Snow White looks fine, indeed, but I though Snow White was a very beautiful girl... while in this movie it's not.

Well, I dont se why downloading should be more wrong than using piracy streaming sites, and I dont se the wrong with either of them at all. A film like Sherlock Holmes from 2009, made $65.380.000. I dont know about other countries, but here in Denmark, a new film like Sherlock Holmes, would cost me the insane price of 150-200 kr (25-35$), and then they wonder why everyone download them? The same story with CD's. They blame piracy that its hard to start as musican because everyone downloads, when their CD costs 150 kr (25$). If the prices just was fair, there would be no problem, I believe most would buy films and cds.

I think Snow White for me anyway, will be very worth watching. Because I like the actress that plays the evil queen, Charlize. I've liked her ever since she played as Eileen in the true story of the woman in Florida that murdered men, and
she was put to death for her evil deeds....plus Charlize won best actress that year. Plus, I like fantasy type movies. I don't suspect it will be super fantastic as a movie, but worth the watch just the same.

Prometheus is probably more worth the watch than Snow White, does not matter because I will watch both of them.

I would not use torrent sites because for one thing, you can't trust what you download. Secondly, it is theft. Third, I'd rather watch it on either a theater big screen, or my tv big screen, not on a computer.

I have Dish for my service and when I watch a pay per view movie, I watch the HD which is $5.99 per movie. I don't do the pay per view often. It's got to be something I've been really wanting to see. They don't have many movies I would pay to see in a year. It's not long, they show up on tv or netflix anyway. I stream movies from netflix to the tv...rarely watch them on the computer as there is no reason for me to.

Going to the theater where I live, you folks would laugh at the prices. Ridiculously low. It's an old theater in a small town, family owned and run. It's like $3 a movie, big thing of popcorn for .50 cents, big fountain soda for .50 cents. I don't even know what it cost to go to the theaters now in the cities. There are three theater rooms in this old theater here, doesn't matter what the movie is, it's $3 for adults. I think for kids its a buck.

Well, your second problem with downloading is one thing, but your two other problems can be solved.

Many thinks that when downloading, there is a high risk you get a virus or something. This is true on some sites, but there is a few sites that years has been scanning the torrents before publishing them, and on these sites you can be sure no harm will be made on your computer. I have been downloading ALOT of movies and series, in a few years, and I have never had any problems bigger than bad sound quiality

About your third problem, I also had that when I first started downloading. But I quickly found out you can buy a external hard drive, but it in your computer like a usb stick, move your films and series you have downloaded, and then put your external hard drive in your tv! Almost all new tvs can do this. Now you have a library of films and series, that you can choose in with your remote control. On popular movies you can download blu-ray quiality, and it looks very nice on the tv.
A few months ago I bought a 2 TB (2000GB) external hard drive, and now its 2/3 filled with hundreds of movies, and about 40 tv series. I have made alot of folders for the movies, so I can go to 'Action Films', 'Comedy Films' and so on. This way you can se all the new (and old) movies for free. You can also watch all tv series for free, and download the new episodes, and watch your fav tv shows without commericals. I can download a new episode on a popular tv series, a week before it comes in my country!
I dont know about the prices in the US, but I bought my 2TB hard drive for 500 kr (90$). Very cheap, I dont want to think about how much it would have costed me to buy everything I have downloaded.

Wow.. If the theater prices was so low here, I was go to the theater everyday!

Actually most of last TV models (starting 2011) can directly connect to internet, so if you have something like Netflix you don't even need to download it before.

Now, about using torrents and other piracy sites. It's a chicken/egg dilemma - theater ticket's costs are high because lot of people don't pay to watch? Or people choose to use such sites because watching movies in theater is too expensive?

What I know is that movie stars are paid millions for acting in movies, like many other movie contributors, too, I suppose. Isn't this a little bit too much? How much Newton, Edison, Bell, Einstein were paid for getting the world to the current level of civilization based on their inventions? I don't even know who invented internet and how much they were paid for this thing that allow us having today this conversation, even if we are thousands of miles far from each other?

It's not worth it to me to use torrent or external drives for the tv. I pay about $8 a month for netflix streaming and it works great. I pay $5.99 on Dish pay per view when there is a movie I have been really wanting to see. The other night I watch 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' on pay per view cause I had been wanting to see that one. And the theater is so cheap here that when there is a new movie release of something I simply can't wait to see, I go to the theater.

The 'internet' officially started on Christmas day, 1990. Sir Timothy in the UK is primarily credited for that.
Overall, the internet came about by a group of people, mainly in the USA. I can't remember Sir Timothy last name....
Brenshaw-Lee I think but not sure about that.

I started working online officially and no where else in about 1998. Altho I had been using computers for awhile, even before an internet connection.

In this little town I moved to about 6 years back we have a theater that has two separate theaters so only 2 movies can show at one time but it is only 6.00 per person and that is with a soda and popcorn. If you do not want the soda and popcorn it is only 4.00.
I had lots of movies in mind that are about to come out that I want to see and as soon as I started typing this I forgot every single one of them...LOL!
Snow White is at the redbox now and I went and got The Muppets last night and forgot all about grabbing Snow White so if it is there when I return The Muppets Ill be picking it up. =)

I was just recently talking to my kids about downloading movies because I used to always download movies once they hit dvd from torrent sites and had been doing this for the past 8 years. btjunkie was the main site I used which has since closed down because they were coming after them so hard. My internet company shut my net off because I downloaded Footloose so I had to take it up town to get it searched by a licensed computer tech to prove the movie and no torrent downloading program was on my comp before they would turn it back on so I have since stopped. I always looked at it like when we buy or even rent a movie we let lots of our friends watch it or our kids friends watch it with them and so on and there is nothing they can do about that yet when it is shared through the internet it is wrong which seems dumb to me but I guess I can kind of see where they are coming from but either way it is definitely not worth not having my internet over especially when I can go rent the movie from a redbox for a 1.20.

Eagerly waiting to watch The Dark Knight Rises.
I hope its better than The Dark Knight which in my opinion was simply out of the world. Can Nolan go one better this time?to

Me too! I loved the Dark Knight I wonder if the movie is going to be the same since Heath Ledger is no longer here.
