Hello guys, In Indonesia , I feel upset and sad that there has been a national protest over the planned fuel price hike on April 1st. 2012

1 USD is Rp. 9,000

We have two kinds of gasoline in terms of octane content
premium and pertamax ,
One liter of premium fuel is Rp. 4,500 ( 50 cents) will be increased to Rp 6,000 ( 33 % hike )
One liter of pertamax is Rp 9,200

1 US gallon = 3.785411784 liters.
1 UK (Imperial) gallon = 4.54609188 liters.

In US , I heard one gallon of fuel price is $ 3.90 , pls kindly advise and confirm

may I know how much the fuel price in your country is ? thanks

If 1$=9000
1 gal (US)= 3.78 lit.

thats mean 9000*3.78=Rp 34020 yours currency

$3.9 *9000=Rp 35100 so cheap in your country if 1 gal = $ 3.9 is true. (35100-34020=Rp1080 cheaper than US

In my country Nepal

1$ = Rs 80

3.9*80=Rs 312
Petrol or Gas 1 lit=Rs120*3.78=Rs453(In our country very expensive(453-312=Rs142more

But I came to know that $2.99/ Gal In USA but Valerie can give you better answer.

In India, the current petrol price is Rs. 70 per litre although it varies from city to city. Cheapest prices here are in New Delhi.

Exchange rate : 1 USD = Rs. 51.25
And 1 US Gallon = 3.78 litres

So, the petrol price in India is $5.16 per gallon

It's about $3.98 a gallon in the southern states of the USA for regular gas.
It's more costly for mid grade, and most costly is the high test.

Funny because last night I watched a futuristic movie and the gas per gallon was $37.50.

I don't know how long a life I will live but I do have to say, I wonder about the young folks and the children being
born today. What kind of future they will have.

I can remember paying $0.29 on average for a gallon of gas, $0.05 for a candy bar, $0.19 for a loaf of bread, $0.02 for a couple pieces of candy or a little handful of chewing gum, $0.12 for a soft drink (and you got $0.02 back when you took the bottle back to the store).

Over the course of just 40 years (I was 16 years old, 40 years ago), prices have skyrocketed beyond belief to those in my generation. Makes me wonder what prices will be in 40 more years.

Val, I member gas at 99cents a gallon. Your right though alot of stuff has risen over the years and it does not seem to stop. When I did smoke I member they was $1.12 a pack Now they are $8.56 a pack here where I am at.
Milk could be $10.00 a gallon in 40 years! I grew up on a BIG farm and we milked our own cows.. FREE!! We also grew most of our foods and or hunted them. We had so many animals that the school for the smaller grades used to come to our house for a field trip,,,lol
I think electricity is high as well, and I am so cautious on what I use there. I always try to use grocery coupons when I can, but it seems in the last 2 years I use and try to use more and more and even more..

Thank you guys for sharing , our fuel price could be cheaper if We had our own oil refinery plants , 85 percent of our mineral and mining companies are possesed by foreign investors . Indonesia is rich in mineral and energy resources , According to the World Bank , ndonesia’s geothermal power potential is estimated at 27,000 Megawatts, roughly 40 percent of the world’s resources and more than the entire power generation capacity currently available in the country.

The House of Representatives, through a dramatic voting process, agreed on early Saturday to revise the 2012 state budget, which includes a contentious article 7 paragraph 6A allowing the government to increase subsidized fuel prices within six months if the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) is 15 percent higher than assumed in the state budget.

According to government data, the ICP in October stood at $109.25 per barrel, November at $112.94, December at $110.70, January at $115.90, February at $122.17 and March at $128.

This means the current six-month ICP average stands at $116.66 per barrel.
– The average Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) for December 2011 was US$110.7 per barrel, declined from US$112.52 per barrel in the previous month.
The Sweet Light Crude (SLC) also fell to US$112.52 per barrel from previous month’s US$116.04 per barrel.
Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources assessed the price decline was in line with crude oil price in international market, which was pressured by some factors such as production quota rise by OPEC members, global negative growth sentiment due to European debt crisis, the acceleration of oil production in Lybia and the dollar appreciation.
“For Asia and Pacific region, the decline in crude oil price was due to the decline in oil consumption by China along with the its economic slowdown,” OPEC said

The ICP is determined by Pertamina, based on moving average spot price of a basket of five internationally traded crudes:

* Minas (Indonesia)
* Tapis (Malaysia)
* Gippsland (Australia)
* Dubai (UAE)
* Oman

In some cases ICP is used as index in long term LNG contracts in East Asia.

Indonesia can increase the price of subsidized fuel as early as next month if the Indonesian Crude Price hits $135 per barrel in April, ministers said on Sunday (April 1st. 2012)

Deputy Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources Widjajono Partowidagdo said that according to his calculation, if April’s ICP rises above $135 per barrel, the six-month ICP average will go beyond $120.75.

However, oil and gas expert Kurtubi says that based on his estimates of how world oil prices fluctuate, a price hike next month was unlikely. “The government will increase the price by July 1, at the soonest,” said the Center for Petroleum and Energy Economic Studies expert.
