I'm making nearly 4 months of and almost same age in CS forum.
I don't remember where from, (but not from reading forum rules as I just double checked now), I was living with impression that links to other websites are not allowed.

While removing links was an often reason for posts edited by moderators, I wonder what are the boundaries of this.

So when are we allowed to do it and when not?

You cannot provide direct URLs unless they are established sites like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist, Wikipedia, etc.

You cannot post direct URLs to other PTC websites (does not matter if there is a referral link attached to it or not) because that would be free advertising to the owner but no benefit for the user posting. However names of other PTCs are allowed to be posted.
The best way would be to give the name and then request users to Google search it.

No. Thats not allowed.
It is allowed to mention names of other PTCs only when you are trying to suggest something which that PTC has or when you are comparing their features/benefits.

Opening a thread like "I was paid fro xxxx" is not allowed because this forum is for discussions related to ClixSense only.

Here is an example where you can mention another site's name (NeoBux in this case) - Increase payouts

In the above example the person is only suggesting a feature to be added on ClixSense which is available on NeoBux.

Awe.. I get it now.. TY .... you explained it very well. I am so used to modding in other forums and they are all so different than this one,,lol, , but on another note I would have thought this was not able to be mentioned (NeoBux). but I think I get it....Thanks again

What actually determined me to double check the forum rules and come here with this question was this "success story".
For me this is obviously advertisement not only to his Clixsense referral link (let's say this can be accepted somehow), but also to other PTC sites, mainly neobox (just look to his Youtube username and other movies poted by him).
However, even after reporting this nothing happened, links are still there, so I suppose for some reason I judged it wrong. Have you any idea where am I wrong?

rlutia66: I seen your report but I personally don't edit another mods posts and left the report for an Admin. I took a look at the thread again and it seems I overlooked he is no longer a mod. (I just recognized the name) so I have no problem to edit the video links out because I agree, it is advertising.
