You can get scammed with any payment processor, it all comes down to who you do business with and the type of business.... If you paid for something and did not receive an item there is recourse in the form of disputes / chargebacks. In the case where you are owed money, in such case you should always receive the money first and deliver the product or service after payment........

What type of deal did you engage in ? Please be aware also that a common way of getting scammed is through personal exchanges, where 2 individual users deal an exchange from one currency to another.....This is a good way to get scammed since there is no possibility to dispute and it is against PayPay'l TOS to do ANY exchanges.

Sorry you got scammed!

I have used PayPal for so many years, thousands of $ in purchase and in money received never a problem. I always deal with LEGIT and established sites.

Perhaps you can share your experience ? How did you get scammed ?

Default limit is $500 on Paypal for both incomes and payments.
Go and increase that limit on your account.

A better answer will always come from Paypal itself.

Paypal is not a scam - all my online transactions are done throught Paypal and I never felt cheated in any way.
More than that, one day I complete an offer that supose me to buy anything from an online games store. I've made a $2 purchase and I got paid for my offer.
After few weeks, same online store took $39 from my Paypal account. I claim that transaction to Paypal using their site and I've got my money back into my account in 3 days, no fees.

Since that day I hate seeing posts saying that Paypal is scam before trying to ask Paypal to solve their issues.
