What does $10.00 buy you in your country?

I'm just wondering what people can buy with $10 in other countries/states?

I'm in the USA in the state of Tennessee. Here is some items I can buy for under $10.00:

Sliced Bread = about $2.50 per loaf. This price does vary with the type and brand of bread.
I'm primarily referring to sliced white bread.

Case of Cokes = about $6.50 at the walmart. That's for a case of 24.

Gallon of 2% milk = about $3.80 per gallon. Again, this amount varies in price depending upon the brand.

One reason why I ask this question is because I wonder what members can really do with a
$6.00 or an $8.00 payout? Another reason I ask is because I am simply curious as to how
much things like food, cost in other countries.

PS. I am not including tax. Just wondering what the costs are without tax.

nice topic. lol, in my country, anything below 30k yearly is considered poverty, $10 buys nothing here other than maybe a bag of jelly beans or two, maybe 1 cupcake, 1 big mac, half a bag of toilet paper! :D

In Bulgaria 10 $ is rougly 15 - 16 BGN (Bulgarian Levs)

With these money you can buy 15-16 small McDonald's hamburgers, or

8 bottles of 2l. coke, or

19 regular sized breads (non-sliced are cheaper), or

1l of vodka - plain kind - not good, not bad, or

Two bottles of cheap wine, or

Three packs of cigarettes (prices vary), or

A cheap mobile / Mp3 player from a pawn shop.

$10? -- let's see, that's enough for me to buy:

1 - 3/4 sack of rice ( roughly 10-15 kilos )

2 - or 7 whole dressed chickens ( quartered )

3 - or 28-30 packets of instant noodles ( soup or the 'pancit' variety )

4 - or 1/2 case of beer

5 - or 15 plain or colored shirts / shorts ( there are bargain sales where you can get shirts at 3 for a Php100 )

6 - or 15-25 canned goods ( assorted such as corned beef, sardines, milk, and so on )

7 - or 3-7 bottles of multivitamins ( branded and generics respectively )

Unless you buy frequently from a stall owner in the market ( which is locally known as "suki" ) you'd be able to get a good bargain price from the items you buy from his/her stall compared to others ;)

( There'll be times the shop owner would also give you some of his/her wares for free when their sales are good  )

If one goes to places like in Divisoria ( Manila ) -- you can get nearly anything there at very low prices ( since the majority of malls in the Metro would get their stocks from Manila )

Another place to try bargain hunting would be at Greenhills San Juan

A pair of shoes ( rubber ) for roughly $2.25 ( Php 150 ), jeans at $3.50 ( Php150-215 ), and assorted groceries for the remained of the $10
