There are now rumors going about on the new Microsoft Windows 9, and it's release in 2015 -- either which way, it has been noted:

There's a bit of 'talk' in a Forum ( somewhat a speculative one, so I'm not linking, quite sorry about that  ) that there have been issues with the current JAVA variant, and they seem apprehensive about the new update that may be released within the 1st or 2nd week next month -- guess we'll have to wait and see

As much as possible though, it's still a good habit to make sure that the current JAVA variant -- which is 7u53 ( also known as v1.7.0.51 ) is installed in one's system -- anything less than the intended version will be a security issue for your system

:!: Just a reminder -- for members and users still using Windows XP, you now have less than a month to get all the needed security patches in their offline installer modules for that particular OS -- coming this April 8, 2014 Microsoft has announced that they will end all technical support for Windows XP

Reference sources -- (1) Support for Windows XP is ending (2) What should XP users do when Microsoft ends support? Upgrade to Windows 8, buy a new PC, keep running XP? - PC Advisor

What this means: Windows XP will not be getting anymore security updates that should protect it from any new viral/malware/spyware threat after the said date -- though that the machines that use XP will still continue to function, it does not mean that you'll be thoroughly protected ( regardless if you installed anti-virus/anti-malware/anti-spyware programs )

Do try your best, dear reader, to see to it that you get a new gear using an updated OS -- either time to invest for a desktop/laptop with Win7, Win8-8.1, OSX ( Mac ) or a reliable Linux Distro of your choice
