You mean the tiny number count to the left of the forum?
That simply allows members to know there is some surveys awaiting for them to do.
It helps in regards to members earning more money and sponsors earning more money too.

Ahhh there is a secret to PL The count is not 100% realtime, however PL's listings are in constant rotation, constant label change, so you may 1 minute check the listings there are 3 surveys and next minute 0 show, and a minute later 2 surveys, etc.........this constant jumbling / rotation is intentional as a security measure ! When you see number 2, but see no surveys, it means none are in your display, but 2 are available in the system, just a matter of when it will rotate Picture this like those conveyer belts at the airport carrying your luggage and circiling around, you know for a fact that there are 3 pieces of luggage in circulation but don't know when you will get to see them, but you know they are there.

This number is valuable, when I see 4 for example and see nothing in my listing, I know for a fact there are 4 in the system and so I keep checking at regular intervals after that, and they get caught 1 by 1.........

Lately it seems a lot of PL surveys screen you out right in the middle for no reason.

So when I see 6 PL surveys I know that most likely I will qualify for 1
