I miss the snow. Usually we have some by now, but this year...Nothing.

Me too, I spent my childhood in north part of Croatia where snow was falling every winter. 13 years ago moved to the town on the sea and here there is no snow at all.

Still can`t get used to it after all these years, winter and holidays aren`t the same without snow. Some of my best chilhood memories are related to snow falling for days, and cleaning it with my father using big snow showels. :lol:

*sniff* I wish it was snowing where I am...

...oh... waitaminutethere... I'm in the tropics... Oooppsie-- :shock:

Give it time, with global "warming" that may happen sooner than you think. :lol:

A Psalm of Life

Tell me not in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou are, to dust thou returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act, - act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sand of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

When you wake up every day, you have two choices. You can either be positive or negative; an optimist or a pessimist. I choose to be an optimist. It's all a matter of perspective.

I don't mean to throw a monkey wrench in your engine, but there are a couple of alternatives....

You can be apathetic and not give a darn.
You can be a realist and accept things as determined by fate or faith.

Not that I prescribe to either of those, I'm an optimist, but I just wanted to point it out. ;)
