Is anyone else having trouble logging into Paypal with Firefox?
I can only log in using Internet Explorer for the past 2 weeks. :?

Just updated my Firefox to 30.0 and Paypal still won't log me in.
The page opens, I log in, then it says logging in with a spinning circle.
The spinning circle never stops. :?

chandu for some reason it is happening to some of us even with the most updated version. could have something to do with either add ons or windows versions.

this was driving me insane for about a week

i figured it out accidentally.... i was loading loading loading paypal..... but had multiple tabs open. i clicked to one of the other tabs while the paypal one was loading loading loading.....

then on that other tab i was on, i forgot i was loading it on another one and typed it in ... and boom i was on my logged in paypal page.

didnt think much of it..... then it happened that i tried to log in the next day and it was doing the loading loading loading thing. remembered how i had 2 open the day before.... so i tried opening another tab and going to paypal dot com..... and boom ..... it worked.

now i do this every time and have stopped having the annoyingness... i just do this every single time. open one tab and try to log in and let it be loading loading loading loading ....

open another tab and go to paypal.. .and there i am... logged in. 8-)

glad to at least help you get to the account... hmm... wonder if you try checking out with the paypal window open with you signed in ... so that when you go to checkout you are already logged in? havent run into that yet.. will be interested to see if that works tho..

good luck!

curious if we both have the same add ons in our browsers that might be doing it... i have adblock plus...google no tracking, WOT, and a few more but i bet one of those is the culprit...

:?: If it's Firefox add-ons/plug-ins, do you have NoScript installed? -- chances may be that the add-on hasn't been configured to white list while browsing on Paypal ( for all I know that the publisher of NoScript has whitelisted sections of Paypal by default, unless the user modified the listing to use their personal needs )

Use your favorite search engine and use the keywords "noscript FAQs"; once you find the site* and open the FAQs page section from the publisher's site, use CTRL+F ( shortcut for finding specific words/sentences ) and look for "Paypal"

* Sorry I couldn't link the site ;)

On FF, I only have Norton and my mouse for add-ons.
I removed the ad blocker, becuase it was interfering with ads with pictures.
For plug-ins it's Adobe, flash, shockwave, and silverlight that are on auto run.
I've never heard of 'NoScript".

NoScript is one of Firefox's security add-ons; no worries, if it's not installed ;)

In regards to the plug-ins:

1) It would be ok to uninstall Microsoft Silverlight ( unless you use it to view Netflix; other than that, the said plug-in has no other purpose in any site I know of ) -- just a head's up though: be ready to set your Windows Updater to Manual, because once you completely uninstall Silverlight from your gear, it'll try to re-install it again -- say you have uninstalled it via Add/Remove programs or using third-party uninstallers like VSGroup Revo Uninstaller, open your Windows Update, and change the settings from Install Updates Automatically ( Recommended ) to Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them -- if the UAC prompt appears ( for Admin control ), just confirm it

After that: reboot your gear

Now once it's restarted, open the Windows Updater and manually click on the Check for Updates -- believe it or not, the Updater will try to reinstall Silverlight several times; just hover your pointer over each Silverlight update that appears, and right-click for the option to Hide the update ( a UAC confirmation message may appear as well for good measure ) -- it'll try to do this, on my end, around five to six, so Hide the said updates ;) Once no more updates appear, you can reset the Windows Updater to the default Install Updates Automatically

2) Since ClixSense needs Adobe Flash, leave that one untouched, but you can disable the Shockwave player ( Youtube fairly runs without it, if you have media audio players installed -- like VideoLan VLC Media player )

I'm just wondering about Norton's plug-in -- since Norton has a history of being aggressive in scanning sites from one's browsers, I may guess it may have something to do on not viewing any particular section of a webpage; try to drop by the Norton's Forum section and look around ( strangely, the term used for that phrase is 'lurking' ) perhaps the threads posted in their Forums may help you

I figured it out.
I put paypal.com in the allowed sites for pop-ups, and unchecked "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload", in the General settings area.
Paypal loads just fine now.

I see -- it's in the Firefox Options menu, Advanced General sub-menu

Well that got me  At least all's good now
