Today in USA is Columbus day but we do not recognize this day as a federal holiday. All of our banks and Government is open. Schools and all. Happy Columbus Day.

The banks and courts are closed today and no mail, so it is a federal holiday.

You are incorrect. Columbus Day is a Federal holiday, all federal offices, courts, and the post office are closed today in observation. Some banks, based on company discretion, may be open.

Yes Columbus Day is a federal holiday. However, the USA does not force people to recognize
any day as a holiday. If you work for a federal institution, you may find you have the day off.
Examples may include the Federal Post Office and the Federal Bank.

My bank is open I just made a deposit. So it may be only certain banks.
