Did I call myself? Stupid

Locked

#1 by Piddles » Sun Dec 21, 2014 05:15

So I was looking on my caller ID on my home phone the other day and seen my own name, my own number on my own phone.
Now how is this possible I asked myself. I can not use my own phone to call myself and my own name show up on my caller ID.
I called my home phone provider and they told me this is a new tactic for telemarketers to get you to pick up your phone.

If you seen your own name with your phone number on your own phone would you pick it up?
Not me!

 Looks like those tele-market agents ( actually, the companies they represent ) are stepping up the game to get a "potential customer's attention" -- using confusion

That's not good at all :(

Bob is 7 years older than I. He's an old carpenter by trade and doesn't know much about the
computer nor internet nor Facebook, not any of that.

I taught Bob how to use yahoo email, some years ago. He still gets confused about it.

When Bob receives spam, he gets excited. It depends on the message he receives in
regards to his level of excitement. You really wouldn't want to hear any of his excitement.
I have to cover my ears while I laugh my you know what off.

The other day he received a phone call on his cell that was similar to the all too famous
Nigerian email scam. He played along with it and I kept telling him to hang up. Finally
he told the guy he would send him a check for $50,000 in exchange for the 60 million
as soon as he finished wiping the bullshxt off his axx. Then he hung up.

Thats Bob.
