As long it doesn't have Superfish pre-installed with it ;) Considering the news and issues now going around it for the past week ( best do a quick check on the search engine with the keyword "Superfish" since it's already been covered by most online tech news and blogs )

Before going for a branded laptop, consider this:

In terms what laptop to buy? Check for hardware specs of it's processor ( is it single/dual/quad core ), how much memory it comes with ( some stores sell at a 2Gb, which is quite low for Win7/8-8.1 -- the requirement for the new Windows should be 3Gb up, the more the better ), are the parts reliable and can be replaced without 'paying an arm and a leg' ( meaning spare parts shouldn't be too expensive ), and to consider your budget requirements

And finally, is it coming from a legitimate store/branch? ( :!: careful for second-hand laptops being sold first-hand items )

When you have done a bit of research, you'll be able to find that right gear for you ;)

the one with the better hardware ofc, what they (dell and asus) really do is branding and packaging.

in my opinion, the best laptop is the one that suit your need the most (e.g in power, battery, storage, budget, style you like and so on). even if the laptop you choose proven worse than the other, if you like it, you still happy and enjoy using it. and "happiness" is what you really seek, not "the better". i suggest you to stock up on GPU, RAM and Harddrive first, you can ignore the rest. if you want, you can have full sized keyboard (key set is the same with desktop keyboards, with numpad and all). if you are into graphics, try to get high vertical screen pixel (at least 768, 720p wont do much, it kills your layer stack).

i will not to be detail about hardware; even when you choose a brand, there might be other laptop from the same brand you choose and the same type (even the same manufacture date and factory) but perform better than the one you bought, just because the other one using better RAM chipset*.
*for example. and this chipset proven more stable and higher durability

look for review from old sites* (forum is better, the people are really picky. freaks), most review site are fake (supported by certain brand and they promoting it).
*in the old days, most of them are magazine (computer or high-tech magazine)

and lastly, do not buy technology, it is a warning! lol

for clicking ads, doing tasks and survey, chromebook (any brand) is enough for me. :D

Great laptops but so is the price . I got a brand new Toshiba Sattelite C50 with 2.4 Ghz quad core processor , 4 Gb ram , 500 Gb c drive and 17 inch screen last year for less than 600 $ . I have had no trouble with it yet . I should have paid twice as much for a similar Asus or Dell . Look at the reviews and what the laptop got inside , it is possible to get a cheap fast laptop with some grade A stuff inside .
