It does work, you are simply seeing the "negative" representation of the image.

You can have the same effect if you copy this in your paint program and select negative.

This is Optical Illusion & since Psychology is the study of the mind, optical illusions comes under cognitive psychology where it deals with the thinking process & perception of things.
So, by that, it's ok.

On the topic, after half a minute when I blinked, HE appeared right on the computer screen. Didn't have to look at the walls. :)

Hey there, I was about to open a new thread for this, but then I thought it might suit this thread, as it's entitled "Psychology" (I hope it's ok TigerHeart, if not, just let me know).

I found this picture a while ago, as I was working on a CF job; can't even remember which this job was, but I know we were required to visit some Twitter accounts, and I stumbled upon this:

I downloaded and kept it on my PC, and now I'm posting it here because I think it can help us rememeber that everything depends on the lens through which each person sees the world; their own and unique way of looking at things, their inner perception.

Who is right and who is wrong? I think probably both are right and both are wrong at the same time.

Just a little reflection.

Cheers!

Of course, it's ok. You've the right to post anything in the whole forum as much as I do. Why shouldn't it be ok ;)
It's a cool illusion & moreover the image is very meaningful as you said. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

About 10 years back, I had a Tshirt which had this same picture printed on it.

Above the pic there was this message : Before 10 beers
And below it : After 10 beers

Why did you quote my post KAleksandra???
I am still looking for some sentence hidden in yours.

Maybe it is some kind of quote illusion.

This is what Escher would paint if he started taking acid.

Who is/are the artist(s)?

Escher was a genius. His art is non-believable, completely ahead of his time. The man who created these master oil paintings/illusions that I posted (Quijote, Gogh, Shakespeare and old lady) is Oleg I. Shuplyak.

 Oleg I. Shuplyak - Wikipedia

Other (two-sided and picture mosaics) are randomly chosen from enormous ammount of them online.

By the way my favorite Escher drawing is Eye.

But I think that his most famous/known work is Drawing Hands.

Finally his complete life opus is amazing, some work that he created is totally unimaginable.

I'm not a very visual person, and I don't like many artists. I like Escher. I like Nedko Solakov (who is the odd one out in this list). And now I like Oleg I. Shuplyak.
