I was playing Plants Vs Zombies & then I came across this huge Gargantuar zombie which scared me a little, but got through it. Trust me, this game is very addictive, at least to me..

This is what a Gargantuar zombie looks like:

It was known as ADVENT when I was growing up (because that was the file name). Wikipedia says it's really called Collosal Cave Adventure.

It's a cultural thing.

It's about being given something and told to figure out how it works. Most people hunt the verb. Some people reverse engineer a black box.

That's kinda the point.

I don't think you just have to be a programmer, I think you had to be part of hacker culture in the 80's.

I have an Amstrad CPC 664 (the short lived one between the 464 and 6128) and GX4000.

Oh bloody hell, you know how many years I spent looking for that Thargoid ship? I didn't even believe it until Braben put it in his book....

No!

There were rumours, and everybody ignored them because they were obviously stupid. Then Braben wrote the strategy guide, and at the end he told you that if you rose to the top of both armies, became elite, and travelled to the edge of the galaxy, there's a thargoid ship to be had.

"edge of the galaxy" kept folk going for years - but he was trolling us.

There is the Mirage, which is a Thargoid ship, but it doesn't fly, and you can't own one.
