I watched Surrogates. Not on purpose, it was just on telly and the remote was out of reach.

There was a good bit where Bruce Willis nearly died, but it turns out he was just acting, and it was just his character that was injured, which was a bit of a let down. I really hate Bruce Willis.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Non stop crazy action.

The originals were better but maybe I was expecting more.

Really? We have opposite opinions then :lol:
I absolutely loved Fury Road so I got curious about the whole franchise and watched the other three movies (never seen them before for some reason).
I expected something different, I guess? The movies felt a little too "drown out" for me. They were enjoyable and Mel Gibson made for a really good Max, but I think I prefer Fury Road.

That's exactly what's wrong with it - Fury Road is nothing like Mad Max, and doesn't fit into the franchise at all.

It's like making a an action-horror movie, calling it Casablanca 2, and acting all surprised when people complain it's nothing like Casablanca.

What is wrong with Fury Road ? Max is split in 2 a strange confuse male and a female road warior . And the movie script itself with the other characters that is like taken out of a funny comic book . Mad Max 4 is pure Rotten Tomatoes . It is killing of the series not bringing it back to life .

@BouldRake, I get what you're saying.
From what I understood Fury Road isn't a sequel, it's more a reboot, a "re-imagining" of the series. It isn't even really about Max honestly, the movie is more focused on Furiosa.
I can see why some fans of the originals expected something different.

Still, in my opinion (as someone who hadn't seen the originals before), it's a really good action movie on its own. Maybe a different title would have been less misleading, even if the "universe"the movie is set into is the Mad Max's one.

I'm sure it's fine for what it is - it's just not Mad Max.

Most reboots are like this, and not just in film either. I'm especially bitter about Fallout 3 (game), the Dawn Of The Dead remake (film), And Another Thing...( book),

The only reboot/remake that got it right was the 1979 remake of Nosferatu.

Exactly Max the road warior that left being a cop and went into the bad lands is gone . Max is now a side kick to Furiosa the road warior . The movie in it self is not bad , but it is not a Mad Max 4 like it was presented as .
