I smoked for many years. Started smoking cigarettes when I was only ten years old.
It's a terrible, nasty, and now an expensive habit.

Once you quit, do not ever start again. Because it's kind of like an alcoholic. Even
after you quit, you will at times crave a cigarette. Don't ever give into that craving.
It is a fleeting craving but it does hit you from time to time.

Congrats. You've made the best move.

You've no idea how over time it causes emphysema and damages your lungs toxically.

Trust me I've seen many such cases/ patients and it's very disheartening.

Valerie is right about addiction and craving, for alcohol, once you're a chronic alcoholic, you get alcohol withdrawal syndrome and believe me that's worse..delirium, anxiety, panic attacks...it's a mess.

I hope Valerie you don't smoke now, too :')

My senior works in NHS. On his first day, we had a casual chat and I asked him how's it going and so on.. I told him "So your first pt is probably an alcohol withdrawal syndrome one right ?" and he was surprised how I know so well cuz it was indeed that )

Liverpool apparently has the highest number of cases of alcohol addiction and well.. on weekends and Monday, its a complete chaos in wards with youngsters sloshed out from drinking :')

I quit smoking several years ago.

I quit smoking on April 11, 2015. Almost my 6 month anniversary!

I smoked until I became pregnant with my first child at the age of 30. I never went back and I think I am one of those rare people who never gets the urge to go back. I can't bear the smell now.

Errr... Quit smoking? Does that mean I'm supposed to quit on smoked ham, and jerky for good? But those are so delicious...

Oh, I'm just pulling your leg there -- I already quit smoking 9 years ago; back then, when I used to work in such a stressful office environment, I'd down a pack in a day, half of that during work ( at times, grabbing a few sticks more from co-workers )

Now, cigarette-free, and good riddance to that habit ( because the price of a pack today equals a 2L bottle of soda -- I'd rather spend my money on the soda instead, with a few coins for tube ice to spare )
