Speaking of toenails.
I crushed a toenail one day. Not on purpose. Wasn't my toenail.
This was back during Jr. high playing summer baseball.
I was the teams top pitcher and batted 4th too.
On this event, I hit a double. Sprinting to 1st base, Chris the first baseman attempted to keep me
from advancing to 2nd base by standing on the first base bag and had his foot on the corner of
the bag.
I play to win and I wasn't about to be slowed down. I was going to make it to 2nd base.
In doing so, making the turn to second. I planted my foot on the corner of the base and there
Chris had his foot planted as if I was going to slow down and go to his right and instead
of me being concerned with him foolishly putting himself in jeopardy of being hurt.
It was only obvious I was not slowing down, but going faster and making the turn. Chris
, the first basemen made no attempt to pull his foot out of the way and in doing so, I stepped
on his foot of which is where the corner of the base was.
After the game, he came up to me and said, you busted his big toe nail. I said Chris,
well, you should of not tried to block me and moved your foot out of the way.
Of course I felt bad Chris being hurt, and no way trying to hurt him.
But, it was his decision to become part of first base.
