Depends on the entertainer and what type of entertainer they are.
As 'oberder' states, monies can be spread in a lot of different directions.
Look at the 'Rolling Stones' for example. Probably one major reason why
they have been so successful and have made a ton of money, is due to
Jagger. At least, so it's been said many times. Jagger has a business
mind and has handled the groups business affairs which in turn, has
resulted in more money in their own pockets.
An actor that I find to be unique recently is 'Eric Roberts'. He was a
high paid actor early in his career and was much sought after. By the
way, he is the brother of Julia Roberts. I have noticed over the past
several years that he acts in all kinds of movies, constantly....does not
matter how bad they are. One day out of curiosity I googled him and
he stated he is having the time of his life. He may already be near the
top if not at the top of acting in more movies then anyone else. So, he
may not be a high paid actor any more but he is acting in whatever he
wants to and probably making a small fortune doing so.
I think its Nicholas Cage that blows his money......or so they have said
in the past that he would blow every dime he made.
Look at old Burt Reynolds. He was a high paying actor that got burnt
by his wife.....in that she took him to the cleaners with divorce.
There was two sisters I knew very well years ago when I worked in
home health. They never married. Grew up in the same house they
were born in. Both educated. One sister a retired math teacher and
the other a retired school secretary. Both retired from the same school.
They never vacationed. Rarely bought anything new. When they died,
they left millions of dollars to the school system. You really wouldn't
have thought they had much just to look at them and their house.
So bottomline, I got off track.
Much of it is not how much you are paid, but how you handle it once
you have it.
