Blogs and TOS

I just wanted to let the users know that you may have a TOS problem if you use banner adds on your blogs.
I just had my whole account disabled to TOS: SPAM. I don't addvertize my blogs, I just had a few banner adds to get some DR here and that was e-nuff.

This was on a major blog site you get free with an email address so make sure you cover your backside.

Well, onto finding a new site to blog from, any thoughts on a good one?

If you want to retain editorial control of your own content, the only way to do so is with self-hosting.

One can acquire shared hosting packages for like $15 a year (plus ~$10 for a domain), with one click installation of WordPress.

Really those free blog platforms suck, yesterday I started creating a wonderful custom splash page using CSS & when I finished the customization & created the content the bolg post was deleted right away .. strange!!
the page & the content look very good & the deletion was at the same time I finalised the content. In other words the content creation process is in progress & the deletion occurs.

So I advice you to go for the paid option & make your own website.

Some free platforms have stricts TOS about what it is allowed or not. For exemple, blogger not allow topic about PTC (even about making money online but not sure on this) Free Wordpress doesn't allow affiliation link, ect... You will always have some restrictions with free platforms

Making your own self hosted blog is the solution is you don't want to lose your work after some time. It is your blog and you do whatever you want with it

Thank you all for the info. I was thinking about doing my own site for video, so I guess I might as well include a blog to it.

I might suggest you check with "ProAdCo" he is up on a lot of stuff and maybe he can help.

Merry Christmas should be the thought for the day for a few days.

Right now in my life I am not able to do all this in the best ways of doing it. I get paid by CS just in time to pay the bills. My income is going up, but it is really slow. Looking to upgrade my account here, this is a first step, to make even more.

As the above is the case, at this time I truly am unable to put out money for anything. I'm a dad with child support that comes first. I read your post from time to time and you have a lot of what sounds like good info.

If you can tell me something that can start from ground 0, I'd be most thankful.

I wish this was not the case, but it is. So, on with the work..

Happy clicking

Okay, poor isn't ideal, but it's not a deal breaker.

Try these guys: Free Web Hosting with PHP, MySQL and cPanel, No Ads - 000webhost.com

They're somewhat limited, but they're free, and it's still self-hosting.

You'll still want to upgrade to paid hosting eventually, and you'll need a domain in the longer term, but this will get you started. They still have fantastico, and you still have one click installation.

Thanks for the info. I did/do have an account with them.

I've posted what I think you would call a "Downline Builder" to it. Had not thought about doing blog post so I'll need to look into that more. Really not sure how to do that kind of script, but I guess I could do html and just ad to the page like a normal blog.. :)

Thanks again

You can get domain for few dollars if search for coupons. Stick with Godaddy or Namecheap on those and avoid 1&1. That's more important than paid hosting as easier to switch if using own domain whole time.

Believe me this is totally rubbish, I tried a long ago many of them but after awhile when they see traffic start coming in they put annoying ads .. believe it .. blogger blog is more better than this option but you have to stick with their tos.

Maybe you can try GDI or WA with their free starter.
