I think I requested the payment about a week ago today, anyone know when I should be expecting this check? in CA.

As you sent your payment request after the monthly cutoff on the 5th, your payment will be sent near January 10 and may then take up to 7-10 business days to reach you (depends how good the mail service is good in your area)
