I love my Linux Mint.
The basic workings of most linux systems now have a GUI much like windows.
Bad for games, Really good for almost all other things.
But flash support seems to be gone from all distros and most of the internet will use flash.
It is easy to set up a dual boot system so you might want to try that and see how you like it.
I love my linux but still use windows 8.1 85% of the time (I like to game when not clicking)

Hope this helps some.

yep, windows is going downhill.
I'm not 100% sure about the flash support but I've not been able to update.
Could be a matter of distros but I really don't think so

Linux can be difficult to get used to if all you have ever known is Windows.

Flash is possible if you are willing to install Wine on Linux, and then using a Windows browser and flash on it. Some Linux users are totally against using or installing any Windows based software on their Linux machine.

Basically you could install Wine, then download the Firefox windows version and install it under Wine. Then grab the latest flash version for Windows and install it under Wine as well.

Depending on your Linux distro, you would most likely end up with 2 Firefox versions. The standard Linux Firefox, and the Windows Firefox version under Wine which would allow you to view flash based web content just like your regular Windows computer.

Lots of Linux distros out there to choose from. Linux mint is decent.

Code: Select All
apt-get install pepperflashplugin-nonfree
then restart your browser.

Code: Select All
apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
for Firefox.

Edit also yeah, go for Mint. Debian is better, but Mint is easier and Debian based enough that Debian users can still help you.
