Number is nothing ..... it is how much you can buy ,,,in Australia numbers are huge but you can not buy much for that ,,,,, one loaf of bread [ 680 gram ] cost on avg a bit over 4.00 dollar or 1 kg of steak around 45.00 dollar,,,,,, do the math now , my full pension is 15 000 a year and avg household pays 7000 dollar eletricity bill

No, I like my car and motorbike too much

I was just pointing out that on £7.20 per hour life would still suck!

Average rent in UK is about £750 per month (excluding london) so £7.20x40hr week is £288 weekly, monthly £1150ish good luck paying every other bill on £400 per month, i guess it can be done but its surviving NOT living, and many jobs here are ZERO hour contracts so you are not always going to get 40hrs per week, some weeks you get no work but bills still need paying.

I had a car once, and you could tell it was really good because it cost nearly a hundred pounds. A Trabant S she was, a wonderful piece of engineering. I tell you, you've never seen a hunk of cardboard go so fast; she could manage fifty on a windy day. I named her Bessie - after the cow - and we had many good days together, but eventually I had to leave her behind. I left her parked outside an apartment block I haven't lived in for a decade now. Sometimes, I wonder if she's still there.

That's nothing - the apartment went up in value by an order of magnitude two years after I sold it too.
