The Taxman Cometh

It's that dreaded time of the year when I'm working on my taxes. I haven't received a W2 from Clixsense or from Google. Are W2s issued on these earnings or since it's not employment, do I just note it?

Well in my country you have to declare everything you earn online and say you're "self-employed", and from what I've been told it's our own responsibility when earning cash online from surveys etc to declare it.

Hope that helps a little

You don't get a W2 - you're an independent contractor.

There was a class action lawsuit against crowdflower last year that could have changed this, but the settlement was...unimaginative.

I believe you would receive a 1040 misc - if you make more than $600 per year here

if you have not made that amount it's up to you if you want to report it

Pssst....... Don't worry about it.

You only get caught up in the trap when you reach $600.00

ClixSense sends a 1099 and you can keep the one sheet and turn in the other when filing.

The amount is listed in box 7 Nonemployee compensation

I've always received mine in Feb and have already received it.
