Thank goodness I am not alone. I received my copy in the mail the other day,
there was a sticker on the box that read: "FeelTheBern" (I was kinda hoping for a bag of money delivered to my doorstep......) oh well, I guess my decision to stick to Windows 7 was a wise decision.

Burned once, shame on you, burned again, shame on me ! :D :D :D

Now they can monitor, track, spy on you 24/7

Windows 10 has alliances to the Illuminati and the one world government initiative !

One way or another we will all have to surrender to Windows 10 or stop using computers altogether :)

Quote:As in my case, i was pleased with my Win XP, but my bank began to complain about at my XP started to become a security risk, because Microsoft no longer upgrade it and i was then forced to upgrade to Win 8.1

And this will happen with Win 7 also sooner or later.

What killed it wasn't really end of support - it was Heartbleed. There is no longer any safe SSL configuration for Windows XP. It's true that with support XP would still exist, but it would also have continued to exist without support if it wasn't for Heartbleed - which is, depending on your point of view, either the most, or the second most devastating vulnerability of all time.

Windows 7 has security updates until 2020, and after that, it's going to take a massive problem like Heartbleed to finish it off. Even something like ImageTragick wouldn't kill it - because that was all server side.

So yeah, you'll eventually have to update, but you've five to ten years - and by that time, Valve should have made other OSs viable, even if you're a gamer. Don't think it can't happen - most of you are already using Linux on your phones and in your TVs.

You have so scary right all the time.

Btw, i stopped playing games on my PC for almost a year ago.

So hard to constantly keep up with the PC performance demands all the time.

For years i kept on changing motherboards and graphics cards etc all the time, just to get some speed on newer games and it is expensive also in the long run.

So against all my principles, i went and bought a game console ( shudder of just the name )

Xbox One had just been launched in Sweden, but i still chose to buy the Xbox 360.

This is because the second-hand market of games for the Xbox 360 was huge, so prices on Xbox games could decide my choice.

If anyone wonders, which i do not suppose, so i only play FPS and car racing games, of course, with the Thrustmaster Ferrari steering wheel, what else, run car racing with hand controls sucks.

It "has" to be asked......

How many people are still using XP? It's not IF anyone is....you know they're out there! There's been quite a few things written re: people who just REFUSE to let go, regardless of security and/or support, and the lack of both......

Just curious.... :?:

About two hundred and fifty million, mostly in China, Asia and India where people can't afford to upgrade. There's also a lot of XP used by NGOs in all of Eastern Europe (except Romania). Why that is, is anyone's guess.

Well, yesterday while watching a video, this is the second time i hear about this:

If you buy a computer but don't want to use the OS Win 10, you can get some money back and the OS will be then not valid. So then you install another.

Have you ever heard about this, because i searched a little yesterday about it and have'nt found something about it

Many companies still use XP, because they don't want to spend $$$ lol.
I have been using Win7 for many years now and happy. I am thinking of using Win10 but only as 2nd OS, and only for the DX12 for games that require it lol.

A boring thing you may face when upgrading their OS, is that some programs no longer work on you'r computer.

I have a submarine game that i like a lot, but it does not work since i first upgraded to Win 8.1 and it feels very sad when you also have paid money for it.

I've been out on the manufacturer's website and looking for a patch for the game, but they say that the game is so old that they are no longer make any patches to newer Windows versions... so they can take themselves in the butt.

Then, there may be other hidden costs when upgrading their OS, i have among other things a calculation program which was quite expensive to purchase.

The manufacturer of the program has a patch for Win 10 but want to be paid for it... so they can also take themselves in the butt.

To upgrade it's OS can make others sad consequences, as you first might not be so aware on before you have upgraded.

Fully suddenly you discover just some stuff on your computer does not work anymore, but if you like '' surprises '' then it can of course be quite successful at times.
