If you think you had a good day Thursday, but Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos had a really good Thursday: His net worth rose $6 billion in the span of just 20 minutes.

On the heels of a stellar Amazon earnings report, the tech giant executive saw the value of his 82.9 million shares in the company increase by more than 10% in after-hours trading, Fast Company reported. The jump made Bezos the fifth-richest man in the world, with a net worth of $53.7 billion. For a brief time Thursday, his net worth increased as high as $60 billion, surpassing Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim, who lost nearly $3.5 billion that afternoon

OPS they forget me . On that day i made 2.28 dollars [ Rich-Poor Gap getting smaller ]

I remember many surveys with the queries like "Are you are a CEO/CFO/COO?" So Jeff can participate here too

clickman1 has the world's shortest fingers, he has worn them down completely.

Each week, he must replace the left mouse button, he has a big bag home with such buttons.

Maybe he should seek to Guinnes World Record or a psychologist.

If it's any consolation Tasman1, the Bible suggests it's easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than to get a rich man through. So, many riches may await you in spite of your financial condition today.

As an after thought, I wonder how a multi billionare celebrates attaining an increased net worth of a few billion? Another bottle of champagne? Pool party? Dinner at McDonald's? Popcorn and Netflix?

I can't remember what they call themselves but I watched a documentary
some time back about some very rich exclusive club. What the club does,
is each wealthy person donates a large amount of dough to organizations
that help people. It was very interesting. For example some donate more
than 50% of their wealth. Those are extremely wealthy people that they
have so much money that they can give away 50% of it every day. I think
Gates is a member of it too. They all have wills in which they leave a
percentage when their dead too.

I saw that show. Warren Buffet was in the group, Bill Gates, etc. It was just amazing how much wealth they had to give away while still enjoying a fabulous life and leaving huge assets to their heirs. Certainly wish they would toss some of that extra "pocket change" my way.

It's okay to be philanthropic once you're a billionaire - but it doesn't make up for the things you did to do to get there. Note that none of them give away enough of their vast fortunes that they're left living anything but a life of hedonistic luxury either.

A poor man will make a sacrifice to help you. A rich man will give you fifty cents to take away his guilt.

The CEO can retired for good? Why rich folk continue to work. They can buy a cheap decent house. They can retired the rest of your life.

A lot of them are billionaires on paper, not cash. It the market would crash like it did in 2008, their fortunes would crash along with it.

I really wouldn't want to be a millionaire, let alone a billionaire. Think of the headaches and trouble that comes with that title. People and charities begging for money all the time, the risk of kidnapping a family member or even yourself for ransom, no longer getting any pleasure out of your new toys because they no longer are any fun, no privacy in life, papparazzi always after you, and more.

Nope. Hubby and I would be very happy with only a few hundred thousand $$ so we could have a nice retirement life, not the one we have now.

This guy should retired right now. Sell Amazon and sell his majority of amazon shares. He can enjoy his life and spend quality time with his family and friends.
