I play a handful of PC games. Just Black Isle, Troika, etc. And Kingdom Of Loathing.

But more recently, I got me a dedicated gaming rig, one of these: RetroPie – Retro-gaming on the Raspberry Pi

I'm saving up for a gaming laptop. My old one bit the dust. I haven't played a new game in quite a while. Just can't afford them that often. When I get my laptop I plan on modding the original Baldur's Gate 1&2 and giving them another run through.

GemRB will run Baldurs Gate. Because it uses SDL rather than OpenGL/DirectX, it'll probably work even on an old computer that doesn't have the 64MB graphics card, as long as the CPU is up to it.

If you like Baldur's gate 1&2 like I do, you should play Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear. This exstension came out in 2016.

When I started to play, it brought me back 20 years. They preserved all the gameplay from original Baldur's Gate series plus some more details (fan based). Check it out if you don`t like it you can always delete it. ;)

I tried playing it but it was too linear for my taste. Plus I just didn't care for the overall product.

I play exclusively FPS and Racing games ( with Thrustmaster steering Wheel , for the right car feeling )

Sometimes it happen i also play any strategy game , but my brain is not built for that , it thinks that it just becomes monotonous and boring , no action.

Nah, I'm only interested in what I've already got. Retrogaming for me is more like watching a TV program from when you were a kid than having an interest in 1950's sci-fi.

I've found gog useful for getting games like Baldur's Gate 1&2, Fallout 1&2 and several of the other classics that are hard to find plus they patch them when necessary. I guess I might be a little different because I'm into old movies, radio shows, tv shows and so on.

I am into old films and TV programs - that's why I used that particular analogy. Archive.org is my favourite place on the internet. Gaming just isn't the same for me.

I see. I like a lot of older games better than I do the newer ones. I guess it just takes me back to a simpler time for gaming plus I'm not as much into gaming as I use to be. It just makes more sense to back and play Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Witcher, etc when I get a hankering. On the other hand. Movies, tv, radio shows are a different matter not just because they are different media. I don't know exactly how to explain it. It's just different. For more watching an old movie or television show, listening to a radio show is like a time portal. Those things were so different back then. Games just aren't the same. I can take or leave games but I could never live without movies, old tv shows or radio shows.

I paused gaming for now.. Waiting to buy a new gaming PC..
I like to play games such as

  1. Need for Speed,
  2. Age of Empires,
  3. Age of Mythology,
  4. Max Payne,
  5. Mafia,
  6. Grand Theft Auto,
  7. Warcraft,
  8. Hitman..
Sometimes I play casual mini games..
Mario, Contra were my favorite childhood games, still like to play if I get a chance (using Nintendo emulators).
Prince, Commander Keen were my favorite DOS games.

WINE is your friend. It runs more Windows software than Windows can. It's a bit behind with newer games, but much better support for older games than Windows Vista/7/8. You'd have to compile it yourself on Windows, though. Nobody supplies prebuilt binaries there. It's also easier to use with PlayOnLinux which plain won't work on Windows whatever you do - so a dual boot is your easiest bet.

Also DosBox for MS/DOS games.

Okey , nice...

A '' BIG '' thanks for your help with this , it is very much appreciated !!

Now i try to start my beloved Railroad Tycoon.

The railway game is a little slow, but it is something with that game i love.

I'm somewhat fond of games that includes economics.

Another game that i would like to get started , is the truck game 18 Wheels of Steel.

That truck game is so boring that it almost becomes real , usually almost falling asleep at the wheel sometimes.

Again , thank you !!

Yeeah a topic about gaming.

Do any of you play modded games???

Love modding Morrowind and Oblivion,Creating a rpg of your choice is a lot of fun and gives replay value for all your money.

Also playing 2 overhauls for Morrowind and Oblivion named Arktwend and Nehrim at fate's edge which are simply amazing.
