New Sticky Ad Price Change

Locked

#1 by admin » Sat May 28, 2016 10:57

Members, when we first introduced our sticky ads in 2014 we based the price off what we thought the total amount of views per day would be. At that time we averaged roughly 50,000 views per day. Now, with ClixSense continuing to grow and more members online, our average views have increased by more than 50% to over 85,000 views per day. With this large increase it costs us more money per ad. We do not like to raise prices but in order to minimize loses we have to raise the price of our sticky ads 15%.

Effective June 10th the new sticky ad pricing will take effect.

New pricing will be as follows, old price > new price:

1 - $67.00 > $77.00
3 - $196.00 > $227.00
5 - $320.00 > $369.00
7 - $439.00 > $509.00
10 - $614.00 > $709.00
15 - $899.00 > $1039.00
30 - $1699.00 > $1969.00
60 - $3199.00 > $3699.00
90 - $4499.00 > $5199.00
120 - $5599.00 > $6499.00
250 - $10830.00 > $12490.00

Thank you

It's still better because results are the best plus hits are always unique and also goes with number of refferals.
@Jim I would like to request a 12 hour fixed ad too
Thanks

Makes sense. Have to keep up with the times and do what needs to be
done to keep ClixSense a viable place for advertising and for members
to keep earning for their time involved.

I don't like sticky type ads....except as a customer. :D The price is variable to the site so it can be a bit of a cash flow nightmare. If people don't like it they can still buy the standard ads which still get good results and give the site a benefit of a fixed cost

I agree, but what I'm wondering is... why are these Sticky ads sold on a 'per number of days' basis when all the other ad types are per x number of clicks?
Seems crazy to base pricings on guesswork as to how many clicks they might get. That's benefitted the advertisers lately but not Clixsense, so why do they do it?

Further to my post above...

I've just re-read the original post and done some calculations and realised Clixsense is making a considerable loss on these Sticky ads at the moment and will still be making a loss even with the new pricings.
I had no idea this was the case

Crazy they don't charge per number of clicks, but maybe they feel they can't bump up the price to the point where they'd be making a profit because it would be too much of an increase and might put advertisers off.

Presumably they're more than covering those losses with other ad types and other areas of the site, but still, I'm amazed!

there is nothing wrong to raise prices, but i want to ask about the appearance of ads
some currently has 25 ads per day, and some can watch more than 100 :!:

If there are 85,000 visits on each sticky, you are losing even with your new prices, since you share 0.001 $ for every view, so that you give in total 85 $, and you get within 49.96 and 77 $.

That depends on how much time everyone can spend to watch them and if they are available in the moment you go into the site.

Yes you are correct. We are losing money even with the new prices. In fact we should raise our PTC Ad credit prices as well as on our larger campaigns we lose money too but that's not on the table right now. To answer your question about why sticky ads are in days and not clicks, its just the type of ad it is. Unlimited clicks for 24 hours instead of x amount of clicks and be done.

This is the only price increase we have planned at this time. Unless all of you want us to raise prices across the board, then we can do that...LOL. just kidding. :)

Thanks

Thanks for the info, Jim.

As you suggest, it's probably not in our interests to be querying ad prices being surprisingly low, so I'll leave it there and just get on with some clicking :)

Thank you Admin for the update :)

Question: since ClixSense is expanding a bit faster than expected, and even losing some money as you recently stated, then... should we expect another increase in advertising prices in the next 2 years (or less)? :?:

Just for keeping it in mind

Regards

I cannot really answer that as I don't know if we'll raise PTC or ClixGrid pricing. Our intention is to not raise prices but in a situation like the sticky ads where we were losing way too much we had to.

Thanks
Jim
