I just realised I have not seen or read your post for a while. I hope you are well and doing great.

I surely have missed your software update notifications. Thanks a lot.

Best regards.

I've been wondering the same thing. Sure do miss our sweet Oberder. Sure hope he's just busy, and everything is going well with him. He's such a nice man, always willing to help out here with member comp issues, and has a great sense of humor, too. He always brings a smile along with his visits. :)

And me.

It's not often I notice when people go missing, but I did notice Oberder.

I just love it when the Universe shows this synchronization thing.

Just a few hours before Fellow posted this, I myself had been wondering what might have happened with oberder, and was even about to post a song which I remember he used to like (I liked it too!).

I also thought about another nice fellow, poiuy123, whom I haven't seen in a while either.
Hope everything's fine for them.

Has anyone heard anything on Oberder yet? Haven't seen him posting since this thread started.

I remember the last time he poofed out, he actually let us know. So it's kind of strange not hearing.

same here, havent seen him for sometime, hope all is well, wish we had contact no's to ring him up to make sure he is ok

actually that is a thought,it would be a good idea if we can add phone no's to our account,at least admin has the power to reach out and check up on members ,then inform us.

i know none of us have seen each other or know very much abt each other but this forum has definetly built up a raport between members,a kinda virtual relationship and i strongly feel its in everyones interest to know about absent members or those that have suddenly disappeared, particularly if they were very active here.

Good idea Pindokhan.
MODs and Admin please look into this possibility.

thats understandable if they got school or college or perhaps other work, but what about the older generation, one fears the worst when they disappear

none of us know how old most of us are,i mean if we are young, middle age or retired so then again good reason to add contact no's to account, will show that a site really does care about its members online or offline

I don't know how old oberder is, but I remember him saying something related to old people liking the Classics in regards to music. I once told him you don't need to be old in order to appreciate the Classics! :)

Anyway, life is unpredictable, we'll depart whenever it's our turn, no matter our age. Geez, this got really gloomy, I don't think anything bad has happened to him!

I don't believe it's a good idea to publicly display any phone numbers, and I don't see how Jim would have the time to be concerned about any member who's not active anymore. They don't even ask you to give them a phone number when you sign up. It somehow would feel like privacy trespassing to me, though it's just a personal opinion.

Just in case some of you don't know, there is already a way to contact any member here. You can send a ticket and ask for any member's email address. The problem is that Support needs to ask that member for his consent, and that would be a problem if he's not active anymore.

I agree with Sarah. That could lead into a privacy issue. And we do have to respect that.

I do have his email addy, I just didn't want to email him in case something was up (it's a southern girl manners thing). I was just wondering out loud IF anyone had been contacted.

I seem to remember something about work from an earlier email from him. Maybe he's just too busy, or on a much needed vacation.

yes sarah you are right maybe its too private which i do agree with you, however its the only direct way of contacting someone superfast if one needs too,,
support ticket can be sent for their id email and again whether they reply or not is another matter.

sad though when someone disappears,i guess thats life, just hope he is happy and content and hope we all see him soon.

Profiles with optional contact information are built in to the forum software, and have been deliberately disabled. The choice to not allow you to find a way to contact each other is a deliberate one. The horse is already dead, there's no point flogging it.

Good news! Our Oberder has emailed me (he beat me to it LOL).

He's requested I post the message below. :)

Quote:Hi guys,

Well, I guess it's been a 'horribly long while' for me being absent from the Forums -- I have to start explaining my long absense from ClixSense... so gather around, ready your reading glasses, and make sure nobody's reading over your shoulder ( unless someone decides to make another thread about seeing a reflection of a person behind them on their screen -- like the one years ago... )

Now then...

"In a galaxy far, far away..."

[small]...errr... no, that's not right...[/small]

"Long ago in a distant land..."

[small]...nooo, that's not right either...[/small]

...

[small]Oh well...[/small]

Somewhere between the 1st and 2nd week of April that I got hit with a case of heat stroke ( given the summer heat, and the El Nino that made the month so unbearable ) which was the primary reason why I haven't been around -- let alone being able to at least post a message on the Forums -- so by late May, I had to make my cashout to facilitate my medications, with of course informing the Staff that, along with my condition at the time, I had issues with my ISP ( my tales about complaining about my country's ISP service I'll reserve for another day ) and, like adding salt to an open wound -- my little faithful laptop had to go through a few factory resets ( no thanks to Microsoft's April 2016 Security Update, which if everyone remembered -- would take more than hours just to scan for any updates, let alone download and re-check for new ones ) Headaches galore, that's for sure...

After I recovered ( thank goodness ) -- when the days were at least bearable, I then recieved an offer from an old officemate for some off-site freelance work -- which involves me to go outside the Metro.

From the later part of May to July, I'm doing fieldwork outside Metro Manila; though I do get the chance to get back home at least twice a month, I'd be too tired to go online ( of course, still having issues with my ISP; I already made a few escalated tickets that are still waiting -- among those tickets, I had a bone to pick with one agent that really 'made my day' by being a complete PoS -- and that I have yet to reconfigure my old laptop )

So, my only means to check up on the ClixSense Forums, as well as my favorite Tech Blogs and News articles during those days, was that I had to browse using WiFi in coffee shops using my co-worker's tablet ( yes, I was... err, 'lurking' and 'mulching', but I'd be damned to buy another over-priced cup of coffee there =P ) Guess it'll be some time till I get back into the ClixSense Forums. Until then, guess I have to write a few things down:

Ahem...

Valerie, I hope it wouldn't be a trouble -- can you kindly lock my Thread "GT Distractions Time to Check your Updates"? -- guess my thread, being more than a couple of years old, has been neglected... I'll just make a new one when I get back ( besides, I've already graduated from school -- if I go back and visit my Alma Mater, those kids might start calling me 'Sir' by accident -- like the last time... )

Bouldrake, hope you can keep tabs with the new Linux Mint v18 -- Cinnamon looks so sexy now =D -- and that Microsoft got it's due ( well, imagine that: a lady sued Microsoft because of the Win10 Updates, and won US$10K -- the tech news about it are all over the Web by now ) -- just one more month to bear-it-and-grin til that *censored* Get Win10 Update banner gets off for good

By the way, for those who really need to avoid Win10 updates, research for the following -- look for "UltimateOutsider GWX Control Panel" and "GRC Never10" -- the publisher's from each of those respecive programs have tutorials and guides to help anyone on using their FOSS ( Free Open-Source Software ) to stop any Win10 intrusion

And it's a good idea to keep tabs with the GHacks tech blog, and security forums like MajorGeeks and Wilders -- with new articles that appears daily, it's a good place to start reading something tech-related, especially when they start reviewing new upcoming softwares

Charez, there's just not enough Tasks =D ( and that we all know there's always that one "Task from Hell" that pops up from time to time from CF *sigh* )

sarah_Hill, I guess the Universe decided to knock me out of my bed so I can write my excuse letter ( or in this case, had one of my log books on my top shelf fall on my head 'by accident'... thank goodness for soft-bound log books ) -- and yup, I'm 'that' old for Classics, so I doub't you'd expect me to be doing some K-Pop dance moves ( though I do favor Japanese OSTs, like Man with a Mission's Raise Your Flag, or JAM Project's The Hero ), or find me enjoying Justin Bieber's songs ( *shudder* I'd avoid Beiber as much as Fox News =D )

Pindokhan, I doubt I'll 'disappear' that easily -- considering I still have a lot of IOU's to pay back =D

catMonster, I wasn't trying... I nearly got inside one house, but you just had to warn everybody with that poster! Noooo~

And... what's this? A new Forum Rule... number 13?

13?! ( Of all the numbers I had to know... *facepalm* )

Sure enough... Davidbugs, go easy on the coffee! Really!

Anyways, guess that's about a few members on the tip of my head that I had to mention. When I get back, I promise to make it up with a new Thread, and at least do the semi-obligatory double-quoting on that other thread =D

Ingat ( "Take care" ) guys!

Many thanks in advance, Susy -- hopefully I get back to clicking when my freelance contract ends ( *sigh* but knowing it's out-of-town, it'll be a long while by then )

Take good care of yourself, and many reagrds to your hubby and love ones, and keep doing good out there =D
