Heavenly Stuff

Usually, my peach trees are stripped bare by the marauding squirrels. This year - no squirrels! Not sure if they found more desirable restaurants than my yard or if neighbors have shot them. Whatever the reason, I am flush in delicious peaches and awed by my good luck. Just one tree has about 200 peaches on it. So yesterday, I found a recipe for tangerine/peach marmalade and canned several bottles. (Getting back to my Ozark hill granny roots.)

This stuff turned out good! It contains sugar, nutmeg, ground up tangerines and cooked fresh peaches. Good on toast or waffles!

It's a plan. First marmalade on toast and then a big peach fight, followed by your flight down the highway with your back splattered in peaches.

I'd like to try that :) We have lots of peaches here too, but not in my back yard, still in the field. I enjoy making peach cobblers, peach shakes, peach ice cream, and peeling and eating right now

The peaches we have in Sweden is not so good , they're a bit gooey and soft.

I was in Algeria in 1982 , where they ate peaches directly from the trees and i've never eaten so "good" peaches since then.

I lacks the taste ...

All peaches aren't the same, Different varieties and taste. I bought some California peaches at the grocery and I regret it. They were pale in color and tasted bland and not very sweet.

Sounds yummy.
I hope the squirrels weren't shot, I love squirrels and love to watch them act silly.

Hey, count me in too.

Some 2 months ago, I had posted some photos of Indian squirrel in my backyard. I'm giving you the link in case if anyone missed it. :xsmile:
