About warnings

As this has recently been discussed, I thought I'd keep you updated, in case anyone is interested in knowing how this system works.

There was an issue at the Spanish forum yesterday, and one member mentioned something about warnings. I recalled that a Spanish moderator had once said that it takes 5 warnings to ban a member, but I wasn't completely sure; well, this same moderator confirmed that I was right, so things seem to be still the same in regards to this.

I'm only mentioning it because it was me who talked about moderators' authority in regards to submitting warnings which could lead to a ban; then valerie said she could submit a hundred warnings and the member could still be here, but that doesn't seem how it actually works. I guess it would be pretty useless if it worked like that, some people would spend quite a long time bugging other members... on second thoughts though, it does surprises me how some members have managed to stay around.

As that topic was locked, I've open this one FYI. No controversy intended.
Regards.

5 warnings doesn't necessarily mean a ban, you could get 15 or more. Admin decides on a ban from the reason of warnings and how many tolerated is their decision. People getting a warning receive a message from Clixsense that includes to follow the rules. Also, a ban may not be permanent and can be lifted.

Well, I guess Jim has the last word on it, of course. I'm just reporting what another mod said; in fact, she also said sometimes it could take less than 5 warnings, depending on what the member had done (by the way, I said "Spanish moderator", but I only meant she moderates the Spanish forum).

It seems the number can vary then, though I still think a hundred is a great number by far... personal view, nothing else. Yes, I already knew that bans can be lifted.

True, could be less than 5 or 100 warnings. It is Admin decision to ban or not ban.

Jim doesn't necessarily have the last word on it. There are other Clixsense Admins as well.

@Sarah_Hill well it does in fact work like that and it is not useless as you might think.

As I stated, a member could have a hundred warnings but that does not necessarily
result in a ban.

Some also think that a warning is the end of the world or a bad thing. It is not necessarily
a bad thing. It's just that some times that member may not realize the forum rules.

An example is a recent new member that kept posting nothing but an emoticon. After
denying many of those posts, a warning was issued to stop posting an emoticon because
his posts are denied. He stopped. He obviously didnt know he couldn't do that but
that doesn't mean admin would ban him from the forum if he received 5 or more warnings
about it.

So although you may think it is useless, it really isn't. It has nothing to do with
authority of the moderators either. Mostly it is a messaging system for moderators
and admin to notify the member of whatever they are needing notified about in regards
to the forum rules.

Take another example of the member that is posting bad language, calling members
names, going against forum rules. When admin sees that member has received
numerous warnings, admin can see what the warnings were for and admin is more
prone to ban that member.

It's all about what the owners need to know and it is their option what they choose
to do, if anything.

Oh, I didn't know it, as I think it's Jim whom I've always seen pronouncing himself; of course it didn't have to mean he was the only Admin, but I had that idea. Thanks for the info.

@valerie, you're right, I hadn't looked at it from that perspective. There must be as many different cases as there are different members. I guess this mod at the Spanish forum probably didn't have all the info.
Thanks for the interesting input!

Number warnings take might vary if earn little and spend little might take less than if earn lots and spends lots granted most like that going be too busy post on forum. Now 15 years ago I would of made even DB look like saint. But forums not as fun to me I post at few just enough so my signatures get seen and to upset my haters who probably wish if was weaker man would of died long ago. Otherwise I only visit forum enough be updated on issues I care about.

I yet get warning so must not be as easy as some forums.

Well actually that was the funny part,at first she likes my post then she deleted it and finally I got a warning.

Productive suggestions, which basically means don't say anything negative about CF since they are just perfect

Each member that has viewed this post has a loss revenue of .05 cents that could of been earned
viewing one ( 1 ) PTC ad.

The total loss collective earning revenue is $5.36 and growing

The upside, the earnings you forfeited, other members pocketed the profits :D

The amount of time it took me to write this post I could of profited $0.015 doing three ( 3 ) .05 PTC ads
