What's Your Favorite OLD TV Series ?

There were tv series that I looked forward to as a kid. Some were those that
came on after I got home from school. Some were really dumb that I don't
think I could watch today even if I was paid to.

Dobie Gillis - This show was really dumb and I am not even sure to this day what it was really about. The main thing everyone seems to remember about that show, is the 'Thinking Man' statue and the commentary all through out, plus the beatnik playing the bongo's (Gilligan he later became). I would watch it without fail.

Leave it to Beaver - Ok, even this one was past my time but it was on rather regular and I really liked it. I often wondered why my life wasn't like that.

Twilight Zone, One Step Beyond, and Outer Limit's - All three of these were so cool! Actually they still are. The main one people tend to remember is 'Twilight Zone'. No one could forget Rod Sterling and his cigarettes. He always had a cigarette in his hand and the blowing smoke.....well, it made me want to smoke too. He did die of lung cancer years later.

Bonanza - Ok, if Little Joe (Michael Landon) hadn't been in this series, I probably wouldn't have watched it. Granted, I liked Hoss but Little Joe, he was GROOVY!

Gilligan's Island - This series was so very stupid. The only thing more annoying was the Brady Bunch and the Partridge Family. Still, I watched it faithfully and I liked Gilligan. Most of the characters were so lame. I wanted to be just like Mary Ann.

Andy Griffith - This was series was just too good. If I had to live in a tv series for eternity, this one would be it. Simple times but everyone took life easy and had lots of fun. The last couple of seasons wasn't so great because Fife had left the show to make movies. Fife really did make the show.

American Bandstand - Came on every Saturday and that's how I learned to do the jerk.

Do you have any old favorites?

Oh yes American Bandstand for sure (mashed potatoes and the twist)...Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Superman, Popeye the Sailor Man, Gun Smoke, Palladen, I Dream of Jeanie, Captain Kangaroo, I Love Lucy, Outer Limits, Alfred Hitchcock, Outer Space, The Real McCoys, Sky King, To Tell the Truth (Game) and some I can't remember now, plus all the ones you named Val. Those were the good old days :D I like this Poll ;)

Doctor Who, obviously.

There may have been a reboot with fancy new special effects and huge budgets, and yes, it might be hard to see past the dated sets of the classic series - but it's stronger in every other respect.

I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, Silver Spoons, Different Strokes, Small Wonder, The Crystal Maze, The Addams Family... to name a few. Bewitched was the one that I liked most of all... Have always dreamed of getting a wife like Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) ;)

Oh ya, those are some I forgot about.

I loved 'I Dream of Jeannie' and also 'Bewitched'.

I still watch 'Little House on the Prairie' and I always need Kleenex handy for that one.

Dr Who is on Netflix NOW! I am thinking of watching it from the first how onward.
Presently, I am on the last season of Andy Griffith.

'Green Acres' was HILARIOUS!

'The Munsters' and 'The Adamms Family' were so cool!

I also watched Dick Van Dyke show very faithfully but funny, about all I can remember
his him tripping over that sofa and her saying 'Ohhhh Robbb'.....and the kitchen.....oh
and the work place office.

I watched 'I love Lucy' a lot too but I did NOT like her husband at all.

A good deal of these shows I watched as reruns after school and others I didn't.
I love The Andy Griffith show, Happy Days and so many others and ones that were mentioned.

The little person-man that played Alf is in the hospital fighting for his life.
He is about 94.
I always thought that was a puppet. I didn't know there was a little person in a suit.
Praying for him.

The Carol Burnett show was my favorite. It wasn't just a show that made you smile, the crazy humor made people scream with laughter. One of my favorite skits was the one where Carol portrayed Scarlet O'Hara in Gone With the Wind.
