do you cringe at some of the questions in surveys? im sure some are a wind up, some of the statements ive answered today have been:

i am happy to pay more for a nationally advertised brand

when purchasing a large household appliance, i like to be up there with the latest trends

when it comes to large household appliances, i am committed to certain brands

when i read some of these i facepalm hard (we need a smiley for that), do you feel the same sometimes?

I've been forced to quit many surveys to avoid brain cancer.

Some months ago, I had the worst one ever:

Imagine our {{can't remember what the product was}} were people at a party, what would they look like, what would they be drinking, who would they be hanging around with?

I answered "I don't think you should write surveys under the influence of acid". The survey was reversed, but I stand by my answer.

Oooh, and brands of milk. How many brands of milk can you name? None! Have you heard of any of these brands of milk? No!

What best describes your attitude to these brands of milk "The only brand I'd consider" (seriously!), "One of the first I would choose among others", etc. "How would you describe the product to a friend". It's milk!

Fortunately, at the end it had a "Are there any further comments you would like to make about this survey?", and I explained NOBODY has EVER given the first thought to brands of milk. I wasn't even aware there were brands of milk. I mean, if you'd asked me, I'd admit there are hundreds of farms, and there are bound to be different brands by law of averages, but it was something hitherto entirely missing from my consciousness, and nobody gives the first damn, and the survey was the most ridiculous one I'd ever completed, and when I purchase milk, I buy the one that happens to be there like every other human ever to have lived.

i had these questions yesterday

would you consider personalising a fridge? (putting a vinyl wrap on it)? no

what do you think about personalised fridges? its a pointless thing

which were honest answers but they obviously didnt like it, i was booted. common sense seems to offend these people.

oh yes!!! Cringe cringe cringe.

These cheeses are not yet available in stores,But if it were would you then reccomend it to a friend. ??????????????????

Right, a lot of wind ups I'm sure, and the issue with many of these surveys is the bias with some of the questions that lead you to answer in any given way.

However in some instances, some questions are legit. Some people would pay more for national brands than generic rubbish for sure, yet some of those less heard of brands can outperform sometimes, and I have some experience with that

I guess the main topic of these questions is whether people stick to brands more than others, which seems legit. You think this is cringe worthy, you haven't seen some of the questions I came across in some surveys that ask you the same ******* questions 10 different ways, I get annoyed by that, or BIASED questions.

a nationally advertised brand would surely cost more because its nationally advertised. common sense? i think this question actually defeats itself.

New product coming , how many will you buy at your first trip to supermarket , 1 pack , 6 pack . 12 pack ? What a heck , sometimes i do not understand what are they talking about.

Ha! That's probably why I'm DQ'd a lot. My answer to those questions are a resounding NO! Who would be happy to pay more for a nationally advertised brand? That's crazy. I also don't care what the trends are, just so the appliance works perfectly for at least 20 years like my old appliances.

I love it when they ask my age and I am immediately disqualified. I'm a very young 68 year old and have grandchildren so I can answer questions about kids and babyfood and such but they don't want me. What is this world coming to when we think our elderly are useless.

I have taken some of these surveys mentioned, even the milk one!

Perhaps that's why you don't give a damn about milk brands and can't tell the difference.

I'm not a great milk fan, and I always add something else to drink it, but I can tell you there's a hell of a difference between one brand or another in terms of flavour... and I think price is mostly related to advertising and the like, because it doesn't always determine the quality.

@lilapopo No that is not it at all. Honestly it isn't. If you really think about it, you'll know
it isn't. You see many of these market research survey's are related to what people will
buy. What people WILL buy, how OFTEN they buy it, and often it is about what the company
that makes or thinking about making, can increase their sales.

So if you are 68 years old and they have a survey related to baby food, most probable
they are going to deny you from taking the survey. It's not discrimination. It's common
knowledge that most people age 68 are not buying baby food weekly.

Another example is bladder leakage. Again, it is common knowledge that most people
age 20 do not have bladder leakage. Therefore, if you are 20 years old, you would
probably be denied taking a survey about bladder leakage.

OF course there IS exceptions to these life things but they are looking for the majority
crowd to answer these specific things.

DON'T think you are being discriminated against because you are 68 years old. A 20
year old could say the same thing when they are denied a survey about living wills
or geriatric shoes or senior citizen road trips or assisted living facilities or hair grey
coverage or........and so on.

I reckon a survey similar to that but not as many songs, you had to listen to the entire clip!!!

I don't know why the bloody hell people would bother taking these abusive surveys.

I'm vegan so of course my favorite surveys ask if I purchase hot dogs, beef, poultry, pork or fish in a month. I get the boot all the time. But if the meat industry is really looking for trends, they ought to accept these types of surveys and learn something. They could tell their advertisers to convert their fields to soybeans.
