I truly love the idea of the Olympics and the sense of nationalism and pride
it creates from the participating countries...

I like the internationalism, not the nationalism. The last couple of days, I've been cheering for Belgium, France, Italy, Germany, Brazil, South Africa, Poland and the Netherlands. I don't think I've cheered for a Brit yet.

Personally, I'm kinda disheartened due to the fact that our national team for basketball (Gilas Pilipinas) blew up their chance to compete at the Olympics...

The qualifying tournament proved to be too much as they battled out the NBA lead team of France... I hope that they'll be able to make it to the Olympics and show to the world how Filipinos are very talented in the game of basketball despite the height discrepancy...
