Retrieving photo's from a tablet

Locked

#1 by lgifnsysmc » Thu Aug 11, 2016 16:34

Hi everyone,

I wondered if any of you know if it's at all possible if I can retrieve deleted photo's from my tablet - after it has also been "factory reset?"

It's a long story, but I've tried some apps and they either say "unable to download" or they just don't work.

Thanks :)

Unfortunately it says "can't open file"

It's said that with almost everything I've tried - I must be doing something wrong

But no worries, I'll have to see if I can get someone to have a look at it for me - thank you for your help :)

If you take it to a shop, they'll just run photorec on it. I know they use photorec because it has a distinctive nomenclature for recovered files, and every single time somebody tells me they took their machine to a shop, the files come back in this nomenclature.

Definitely try to find someone who can help before resorting to a shop. I mean, it is a low level tool, and isn't very easy to use, so it's to be expected that a lot of people end up paying for help, but it's still worth trying to get a friend or neighbour to help first.

Thank you x_0!

I took it to someone at the weekend and he said there was nothing that could be done, I've tried a few things from that link and not having much luck yet, so perhaps he's right.

Thank you both very much for helping, I really do appreciate it. :)

To restore to factory settings, the steps are as follows:

Go to the menu Settings / Settings

Scroll to the bottom and find the menu Backup and Reset

Then tap to Factory data reset

Tick assumed to be true, then tap the device reset.

Wait until the process is complete reset about 3-10 minutes depending on the amount of data available on phone or tablet.

Once completed, the android will restart itself, if not please do it manually.

The second way that can be taken is to use a secret key  that is * 2767 * 3855 #. With a record you can still access the keyboard.
