I have this thing about passwords.
Never use the same one twice. Using the same password on payment processors and any of these type sites is just asking for trouble.
Never keep the one generated by the site. Change it ASAP.
Never type your password in, if you have a keylogger on your comp (if you haven't run your security programs lately), the keylogger will pick up on anything typed.
Use Roboform to generate heavy strength passwords. Use characters, numbers, and try to use more than 20 in combination.
Once a site has been hacked, or gone offline for any reason then come back (I'm really paranoid about this), change your password ASAP.
Do your security scans as often as possible. Make it a routine. Update your security programs MANUALLY, do not allow any automatic updates. Doesn't matter what programs you have, don't rely on AUTO. And clean your comp BEFORE you shut it down.
Make sure your browser is cleaned out regularly, don't leave cookies, cache, temp files. You might have to enter login details again, but that's a small sacrifice.
The internet is harsh enough, but what we do with these get paid programs can be more so...hackers love to take down these sites, or mess with things within them. Just because they can.
