I can't say, but banning someone here was a good step. Since we don't see anymore negativity, agressivity, ect

I can't really rate it as good or bad I think...
I personally miss it (because I'm very nosy I guess  ), I enjoyed it when it was there, so to me it's bad
But it may have achieved whatever reasons were behind its withdrawal...so in that sense it must have been good...

I think it is more significantly useful for newcomers, once after a while, everyone knows mostly everyone around the forum with no need to refer to other's ratings :D

Ratings without a link to your personal contacts are only good for one thing: "Is this guy a dick, or have I actually done something wrong?"

Most of the time, you've done something wrong - most of the time, when somebody is a dick to you, the thing you've done wrong is not read the twenty seven identical threads to yours immediately beneath, you didn't read the first topic on the first page, nevermind search the forum - but without the ratings, there's no way to know if you've done something wrong, or if you've just encountered a dick.

We - or more specifically, new members - need to know who is a dick, the ratings shouldn't have been removed.

Well I guess I am just an old folk because I think it is ALL silly, to say the least.

The only good part about it is that the administration can see who may be causing issues.

Some times it feels like I am at the kiddie school forum.

Seriously, there is a place for everything online. At the CS forum, it should primarily be
about members helping each other and helping CS to grow because growth only means
more money for you. It shouldn't be about how many likes someone gets at the forum
or how many warnings someone has at the forum or any of that. This is a make money
program.

I think we all are more nosy than any of us would be willing to admit, and basically everybody here has talked about non money related stuff (that's why such a section as General Talk exists, I guess), and it can often be pretty silly stuff in fact... but I don't see a problem with that. These forums contribute to make CS as special as it is.

CS is a make money program which helps millions of people increase their income, and for lots of fellows it even means having food on their table everyday. For me, CS is a really good source of easy extra income, and as crazy as it may sound, it also provided me with an unexpected source of emotional solace when I joined a couple of years ago. Because things like that just happen, I stumbled upon this site at a complicated moment in my life, and with time got to feel quite attached to it. I'm therefore doubly grateful.

That said, it seems that hiding the rating system has indeed helped to maintain a calmer atmosphere hereabouts. I'd say the administration already have the report system to see what's going on, but I guess they find the rating system to be somehow useful too. However, this tool isn't that trustful, as some people liked to abuse it, and sometimes members would rate each other with a negative after they had an argument and things got a little bit out of control... and that doesn't necessarily mean they're dick members.

Anyway, sometimes I'm curious to know what's going on behind the scenes... so Marcel, considerning I'm leaving for good in a couple of weeks, why don't you gently blow the whistle? Don't worry, I won't tell anyone.

I enjoyed seeing the rating system. I really didn't care about other people's ratings but I was very curious about my own ratings and what other members said about me. Usually, I was pleasantly surprised. It's always uplifting to see kind remarks about you. And if the remarks are not so kind, it may be a learning opportunity.

Yeah, just as sad as when it's you who picks on others.

Oh no, I simply won't have the time to make the most of my CS account anymore... but thought I could try some emotional blackmail on you.

I hope I am not being misunderstood. I know I can be odd.
All my life, I've been told I have a dry sense of humor.

To be clear, I am not saying members shouldn't have fun here or
converse about topics in general. That is why the general sub
forum is here.

What I am saying, it is that ClixSense is foremost an advertising
program in which members can make extra money and that should
be the main focus.

If you think about it, there is often a lot of time on topics that
reflects away from what a member really could be doing to help
themselves make more money.

I call it 'misplaced focus'.

A real example is one day many years ago, long before CS even
existed, I was spending much of my time one day on a forum. I
took a break and used a safelist to promote a program I was an
affiliate of. Within the hour after sending my ad, I had made about
$250.00. I will never forget that but I do forget that marketers name...
he was killed some years later in a race car at a race track. I recall
receiving checks in the mail every so often when I made sales. Eh
now I am going to research and find out what his name was. Owned
a popular program name Marketing something or other.

So what i am saying is, if I had continued to sit at the forum that
day, I wouldn't have made the $250.

My point is, it's fine to have some fun. All work and no play makes
something. If you sweat the small stuff and mis place focus, you
lose possibilities that may become realities. That is what I am saying.

Having a bad day or something?

I wasn't even thinking of your job as a mod or your "blunt" side, I was talking about how sometimes you mess around with other members, in a humorous way (in fact, I do it too).

The "emotional blackmailing" thing was just a joke, and by "behind the scenes" I meant the users' ratings, which are visible to admins and moderators. And you're the moderator with whom I've been interacting more with, hence my joke.
