So I had started to doubt whether these two sentences were proper English and meant the same:
Previously I made $20, I don't any more.
I used to make $20, but I don't any more.
But on second thoughts, and freakingout aside, I guess that the English I've been taught and the English I'm supposed to teach to kids can't be absolute crap.
Actually, neither of those are correct. Neither make sense. Here is why:
I don't any more, previously I made $20.
But I don't any more, I used to make $20.
You can't begin a sentence with a 'But' and therefore you can't have a coma before a 'but'.
Remove the coma from yours and it will come more to making sense.
