Why didn't countries pitch in and go get those poor people in Haiti that was in the
very bad areas living in shacks and take them out of there?

It just makes me wonder what people really are. There is ships and boats and
everyone knew that the storm was coming in plenty of time to take those people
out of there. Now they are dead and they knew they were going to die. They
even said so.

It is stuff like that, that makes me ashamed to be a human. I some times wonder
if human's were not really placed here because we are mutant rejects due to bad
brains.

I know! It wasn't long ago they were hit by a storm too.

You know, some places are just not meant for people or animals for that matter.
Haiti is one of them.

When the earthquake hit and the donation $$ came pouring in, someone should have been looking out for the people. The donations were supposed to be used to build housing and infrastructure. Instead, the money disappeared into certain people's pockets, not the people. Another corrupt government that doesn't care about their people.

Hillary's one brother was begging for Foundation money to build homes in Haiti, but they refused to give it to him because he's not exactly a smart businessman. IOW, he's a shyster, always scheming, and everything he touches blows up in his face.

It's crazy every year is somewhere hurricane season, i often fear for my family and friends.

I know how you feel, but there is a difference to us, they do not want to lose their little spot.
Others will get their last shirt off. Most people do not trust anyone anymore.

We were carefully robbed by our own Neighborhood and distant relatives.
Bathroom dismantled, the whole kitchen was taken out, when we were short time away.
All whas handmade, we had done everything ourselves. Sorry sad. :( :( :(

The poor people in Haiti, do not have anything. Many still live in worn out tents.
Others were/are living in less than shacks. They don't have kitchen sinks nor
toilets.

The world knew the hurricane was coming and they knew it would hit Haiti hard
as it usually does. Yet, no ship from no where to take those poor people out.
They just let them die. They knew they would die. No evacuation. No help.
Just let them die and they did.

Well, I think it was appropriate to warn everyone about the Hurricane and the USA
did advise evacuation in the areas that were probably most in danger. I don't think
anything is wrong with that.

What I do think is wrong, is what I said. They did not evacuate the people in Haiti
that was in the most dangerous areas.

You know, the earth is never staying the same, never. So I don't see how people
can be so dense as to think they can continue living in areas that are continuing
to grow even more dangerous.

There comes a time when a 'fix' is not on the menu.

I don't know about what they do in Hong Kong.

I was referring primarily to areas around the world that are now receding into the ocean
and are known to be dangerous areas to build a house. When there is things one can do
to prevent loss of life, I think it should be done. I also think the dead might agree with
me.

Take Louisiana for example. There are areas in that state that are becoming more and
more water. So of course, people must move to higher ground. There is no 'fix'. All
they can do is move inland......that is, if they want to protect themselves from the water.

Would have been 'nice' to totally evacuate, but , one - too many people, would need thousands of ships
two, for some reason many of them would not leave anyway .
Sad, but some people are that stubborn .
Even in U.S. , there are numbers of people who think they will "just ride it out "..
Emergency crews are still 'evacuating' ..

I was not referring to evacuating everyone but the ones in the shacks and worse areas
in which they had no protection from the storm and that is in fact the ones that died.

I don't know what can be done about such an area as that.

Ya, there is always people that put other people's lives in danger by not evacuating.

I Agree, Valerie. Seems this country is determined to shoot itself in the foot every chance it gets! Why not save the money we send to countries who shoot it back at us and instead place it in a special fund to help those that can not help themselves because these natural disasters! One problem with Haiti and similar countries, is that corruption reigns supreme. Remember Baby Doc Duvalier? He was corruption in the first class mode!
