If i had a time machine i would go back to the time i was about 4,,but with all the knowledge i have right now making me one of the brainiest kids alive :D ,,,
change alot of things in my family, forcast the future, lottery numbers etc .....

go back even further to the time of adam n eve and ask em why the heck they ate that forbidden fruit? what was heaven like so on and so forth.................
travel thru the times of the great kings and famous ppl in history, watch history being made,,,,infact i would just be going back and forth all day long, bring back artifacts of the past and perhaps taking the latest tech back with me too....

just one worrying thought tho,i might get burnt at the stake for practicing withcraft

I would only go back as far around when I was still a innocent sixteen year old

And then don't make the same stupid mistakes..so I can retire when I'm 21.

I'd travel to that UN meeting last week, where the leaders of every nation on earth all got together and agree to disarm the military, and bring about world peace.

I'd sabotage something in the build up to ensure it never happened.

First i would buy the Sports Almanac with Complete Sports Statistics from 1950-2000 and go back in time and handover the Sports Almanac to myself and tell myself if anytime anywhere someone starts asking about the Sports Almanc especially a teenager or an old man you know what to do

That would be cheating  Also there are probably certain things you cannot / should not change, for reference, watch Back to the Future :P :P

Yeah I would LOVE to have a time machine to go back in time - though not to when I was 4 but somehow farther down the road, :P But assuming by time machine you just rewind the tape and relive your existence, how would you still remember your knowledge if you have not learned it yet. UNLESS, by time machine we are not going to our actual past, but opening up a new timeline duplicate and going back to that actual copy of the timeline - we are merely changing lanes so to speak - similar to a theory that every possible outcomes exists (multiverse theory)

Though it would be nice to go back in time and UNDO the silly mistakes we made, like trusting the wrong people, being scammed online, etc. Going back in time to when bitcoin was only $8 :P etc. :D

If the multiverse theory applies here and you are simply returning back to a COPY of the timeline but which will have a different outcome, then the lottery numbers will be different and not the same. Read the fine print disclaimer on the time machine - :D

Difficult to say, fun to think about.

Maybe the first step would be to zoom a ways into the future to see what I am dying of.
Then I can zoom back in the past and correct whatever it was that was killing me.

i think another one would be to keep going back and relive the best moments of your lives again and again but slightly differently so you would never get bored but realize the outcome each time,,this way you can perhaps defy death as well and never get old............say reached 35,,,go back to being 25 again, relive 10 years and repeat the process....

valerie i liked your idea about the illness one, maybe alot of people can be saved if they knew what where their illness came from in the first place..

Couldn't messing around in our past lifes with the help of a time machine change the future and creat a paradox ?
Ever heard of a Paradox Effect ? If someone would be traveling back in time to his own past to make himself rich or to say to a girl yes instead of before no then that could change the future and could create a paradox, meaning maybe someone somewhere would not be born or die in some accident because i changed the past. After changing the past and traveling back to the future the future as i remember it would be different, maybe a different government or poseidon statues everywhere instead of churches or the Teletubby song as a national anthem, hell no.
Remember those movies from back to the future ? They always end up traveling back and forth trying to fix things, after they fix one thing something else needs fixing.
And who wants to spent their entire life traveling back and forth with a time machine just to fix things over and over.
I already have a real job don't need another

Nah, it's fine. The whole sort of general mish mash has no problem with paradoxes.

catty its the thrill of having the opportunity to change or do whatever you want....maybe you might not change anything,,but at least you can go back and visit your ancestors, see how they lived.......confirm things that have happened long ago which we believe in today.....the time machine is a way into the past or the future perhaps...i know it seems kinda daunting to perhaps change something which might influence or change something something else,,,then that's life ,there is an element of thrill here, who doesn't like a bit of adrenalin flow now and again?

i have seen alot of futuristic films where ppl go back in time and i say i just love em,,,sometimes i wish i could do the same,i know its not possible but sure sounds exciting!

I guess i would make sure i win at every lottery game ever played and get super rich, after getting rich i would give huge donations to animal shelters and anything that supports animal rights and support all other organisations that help animals. Would keep about 30% of all the hundreds of millions earned from lotteries and donate the rest.
On top of that i would go back in time to where i'm 10 years old and kick myself and tell myself to bring that animal to the vet today and not tomorrow when it's too late

And i would swing by my grandmother also my aunt and say to them "i love you" before they pass away.
And probably undo many evils that happened in this world like whale hunting or seal clubbing, also would make sure that good people like John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, John Lennon, Gandhi and many more never where assasinated. Wonder what the world would be like if they had survived.

Also "Catmonster was here" would be engraved in big letters on the chest of the Statue of liberty, just for kicks. :D
