If I had one I wouldn't go back a do a thing. As bad as things get, changing the past might very well make things worse.

just the thought of going back into the past is unimaginable,,,,,but if it is possible then wow.....when you have something at your disposal its only natural to use it,now or later,,,curiosity has always been the downfall,,,,,,,,,,,,or the success of mankind.

With a time machine i would go back in time and make sure the Teletubbies never existed.
And wouldn't even care about any paradoxes, oohhhh god i hate that song

Interesting thing would be to travel to the year when jesus was supposed to be born, would really be interested to see if the story is actually true or not.
Or travel 500 years into the future to get a glimpse of what the world would look like.
But you know what they say, curiosity killed the cat :P

Movies based on science fiction are my favorite genre but is the time machine really only science fiction ?
Call me crazy but i do believe it may be possible sometime in future to unravel the mysteries of time travel and to actually build a real time machine.

Check out the link, it's a lot to read but very interesting stuff
hawking - space-and-time-warps

Bending space together and establishing a straight line between them like a worm hole traveling thru them like in that movie "Event Horizon", in theory same could work for time travel itself, bend two different time lines together and travel in a straight line in between future and past. Like "Bill and Ted" with their telephone booth or "Doc brown and marty mcfly" with their DeLorean or the people from the movie "Timeline".

I would go back to when I was 18 . I would have changed everything . From staying in college and getting my degree in medicine instead of throwing it away to worship the "weed " ! Ever since then all of my choices have been the wrong ones . Wrong partners in life , starting from the first .

The biggest problem I would have with traveling back in time is what I would use for money.

Here in Australia we have changed our money so much over the years that most of today's coins & notes could not be used if going back more than a decade or two. In 1966 we went from pounds & pence to dollars & cents, so none of today's money would work if I went back to when I was born in 1965. And since then we have have gone from paper to polymer banknotes, so a $10 bill from today would be laughed at if I took it back to even the 1980s. 1 & 2 cent coins haven't existed for a quarter of a century, the $1 note was replaced by a coin over 30 years ago, and $2 notes were also replaced by coins half-a-decade later. Trying to pass off a current $100 note would probably land me in jail, as they have only existed since ~1984 (got my first one from the bank the day I had to enroll in university).

The only cash from today that would still work all the way back to 1966 are 3 coins: the 5 cent, 10 cent & 20 cent piece. Even the 50 cent piece couldn't be used pre-1969. None of today's money would work before then.

I couldn't use an ATM card as they haven't been invented, credit cards look very different so merchants would refuse modern ones, no such thing as online banking, PayPal or Bitcoin. To travel back in time I would first have to collect as many old banknotes & coins from numismatists as I could for the specific year that I plan to go back to.

Alternatively, I could take a modern piece of technology back with me & sell it for a huge amount of money, but I don't know if I would like to have that major impact on the future. Imagine if I took an iPhone or iPad back to the early 1980s & sold it to Samsung? They could patent the iPhone before Steve Jobs has even thought of a portable phone, and Apple would probably end up going the way of Nokia.

I've always thought that a person going back more than a couple of decades in time would have to either rely on charity, or bring a suitcase full of very old banknotes. Though I guess you could also install a modern printer/replicator in the time machine & print out the relevant (counterfeit) money as you need it.

I would want to travel to the future. Find out if we have met alien life on other planets. Try to join the crew of an exploration spaceship similar to the Enterprise. Check out all the new technology such as the time machine they sent to the past that I could take it to the future :P

Nah, you just find the coordinates of a bank vault, and stand there before you travel in time. Banks open and close all the time, so you can find a suitable one that is a bank in the time you want to travel to, but isn't a bank (so you can stand there without having to point a gun at a cashier) in the time you're travelling from fairly easily.

I own a time machine, it works towards the future only. In my time machine, you just need to close your eyes, and when you will open them again you'll be in the future.

My favorite time machine movie is 'Time Machine' that was made in 1960.
I guess I have watched that move over a dozen times in my life. Better than most time machine movies today.

I think they tried to remake the movie one time but it really wasn't very good. I guess some of
the really old good movie classics, is impossible to remake them better than the original.

I'd skip ahead 4 years and 2 months in hopes that the middle class still exists.

Either King Arthur returns at some point in the next couple of years like he promised, or you'll have bigger things to worry about than social classes.
