I am always amazed at how low the listed payouts are given the number of users....$22 million for 7 million users over nearly 10 years! It really isn't all that much...maybe it points to how many of the users are inactive, rarely active, just click ads etc as another GPT site like this I belong to which is a year younger passed the $100 million payout threshold last year. Of course, Clixsense for a long time was purely PTC whereas the other site was GPT from the beginning so that explains some of it but CS pay more than the other site for tasks, offers etc. Just find it strange that the numbers aren't higher

Anyway, congrats CS on reaching that number and it will be 10 Million users before long

alot of members here are very active,some aint,so really its those active that really keep it going so well done all for making clixsense where it is today!

One started life as a merchandise retailer for celebrities and is funded by vulture capitalists. The other is a family business.

It's not actually that surprising when you consider 2 things.

1. the other site has more members (> 12 mil according to Wikipedia)
2. the other site restricts membership to USA/UK/Aus/Ca/Ireland (at least that's what the site says) - pretty much the highest-tiered countries when it comes to GPT (e.g. more surveys and offers compared to other countries) whereas a large number of Clixsense members are not from these countries. This means the average earning of the other site's member is higher.

(higher number of members) x (higher average earning per member) = higher total payout.

This is a very rough "analysis" that doesn't take account of things like the percentage cut taken by each site but those are probably relatively insignificant compared to the two things mentioned above.

Not sure what site you are talking about.

The very first PTC to become more of a GPT, was online over ten years ago for about two years and
then they closed down. That is the only one I know of.

ClixSense was the first PTC to implement GPT. I know because I am the one that suggested it
and helped them locate the affiliate surveys/etc.

I never pay any attention to numbers like that. It only takes a click of the finger to update stats
on a page. So just because a program says they paid out a 100 mil, doesn't mean they did. Just
like programs that say they are selling their members referrals when all they are doing is selling
bots.

@Valerie: The site I was referring to wasn't a PTC to begin with...it started life as a GPT site and still is a GPT and has never had PTC....I was merely using it as an example of why I was surprised that the Clixsense numbers aren't higher (given that CS is a far superior site in terms of pay). I agree that sites can say what they like but the $100m part was believeable.

Congrats to those that managed to work out the other site with minimal information...am impressed. I had forgotten about the restrictive membership mind so that does explain some of it....still surprised by the disparity in numbers, especially when the other site pays a third what CS does for tasks and half for offers most of the time. Then again they do have loads of videos which used to pay a decent amount so that explains some of it as well

It didn't though. It started life as a reward club for purchasing celebrity merchandise. That's much bigger business than GPT sites. It's present form might technically be a new site, but they already had the members before it even began. They didn't even change the name of the virtual currency.

They're where they are because celebrity.

Hope one day to find a site that paid 7 million to members and they have just one member, tasman1
