I have had the Gameboy and I have the Nintendo DS. I am presently waiting on the new 3D XL.
All of them have worked fine without any issues at all. The 3D XL has some additional features
such as Netflix and Hulu. I am a Netflix subscriber so that did aid in my decision to go for it. I
know the main clincher for me is that I can play all my DS games on it. Not that I have a room
full but I have ten.

So just be sure to do your research, know all the features each has, and choose the one you
think you will like the best. I do think at this point in time the new one I ordered will be good
since it will play the older games too.

Thank you for the suggestions I will definitely keep these in mind when I buy the NDS. After I buy it I will post a picture of it on the forum.

I looked up the Nintendo wii ui or whatever is called. I may have liked that better because it
is more of a console that you connect to a monitor and then you use the hand held controllers
like you would a playstation/xbox etc.

I had ordered the 'New 3DS XL' (that is what it is called as they have one that is the NEW and one that does not have the word NEW in front of it) through Dell and I have expedited shipping with them but it says shipping arrival between the 16 and 20th. I think it is because they had sold out of them but the black came back in and that is what I ordered.

Anyway, be sure to read the info on them because the names are tricky too.

ALSO the NEW 3DS XL does NOT come with the charger/adaptor. I am guessing the old one I have for my DS
will work with it.

I received the game today and was a little disappointed in the package.

The game case is very light weight, flimsy, not like my previous game cases that are weighty, durable.
Also, there is no booklet included.

Doing a search, it appears for the most part, Nintendo has stopped including the little booklets and
instead, it is digital now.

Not a deal breaker but I always liked flipping through the little color booklet and getting a feel for
the game, a little instruction, etc before playing it.

I guess one day we won't even be able to hold food in our hands. Digital soup.

That was all part of the fun, wasn't it. I miss it dearly.

Getting a game in a big cardboard box, not being able to wait to get home and play it, and eagerly reading the instructions at the trainstation and on the train on your way back.

Especially awesome with games like Frontier: Elite 2 which came with a Novella, and the Fallout 2 manual, which contained the memoirs of the Vault Dweller (the protagonist from Fallout 1).

The move to digital manuals ruined half the fun.

It really is a bit disappointing.

You know what else, they don't put the adaptor in with the game console.
I think that is so hilarious and the joke really isn't funny to the consumer. I have
not received the game console yet but I was reading more about it and customer
reviews. Lots of one star reviews simply due to no charger/adaptor. Can you
imagine that?

You buy your kid one of those for Christmas or Birthday and the kid opens the
package, all excited and guess what.....the kid can't do anything with it but look
at it because there is no way to charge it/plug it in.

I do have an adaptor that came with my older DS so I am counting on it working
with it. If not, I'll have to go buy that too.

I keep getting surprises.

Now I realized the new 3DS games will not play in the DS XL consoles.
That's not a deal breaker either. The important thing for me is the older games will play in the New 3D XL
I guess I was just assuming if it worked that way, it would work the other way too. It doesn't.

I tried placing the Zelda Majora's Mask 3D in my DS XL Doesn't work.

So that is a good reason why the booklet should be included. I could at least look at it while I am waiting
to receive the machine. Ya, I know I could probably locate it online but that is a drag.

I came across some things out in my shop that I had forgot about.

I forgot that I use to have a Gameboy that was upright and I think it only played the games in black and white.
I don't have that any more but I have a few games that are much larger and these games appear to be color so I may be wrong about it only playing in black and white:

Tetris
Frogger
Tamagotchi

Two of those are in their plastic cases. Took me awhile to remember how to open them. I also have the booklets which are very thin for Frogger and Tamagotchi.

Also, in that same box of stuff was my little red square GameBoy Advance SP. I even have the adaptor
for it and presently charging. These games are smaller but a far cry from the smallness of them today.
I have the following games for it:

SuperMario3
Tetris
Classic Nes Series Castlemania
Classic Nes Series The Legend of Zelda
Classic Nes Series Zelda II The Adventures of Link

I have the instruction booklets for 4 of those.

What is really funny is the Operations Manual for the DS XL
It is tall and 335 pages! In English, French, and Spanish.
