Well we had been doing so much talking lately about how we had enough chickens and it is time to stop buying more chicks. So we went into tractor supply to get some chick feed and fence and I saw tons of chicks 1/2 price. You all should realize by now I just can't walk past a deal so my daughter tells me no, and makes me walk past that deal. So we go get the feed and go looking for the wire when she sees a bin full of Seramas. well I now have 5 more chicks that can walk right through the chicken wire and they are about the size of your thumb nail. We had to go find some cardboard boxes to put around their pen in the front room. I told my daughter she is never going back with me to tractor supply again, lol. So much for the idea of us not getting any more chickens.

The good news about these unexpected chicks is their eggs will bring me in some extra cash next year. And they will be so small they wont take up lots of room, which gives me a new idea that maybe I need to get rid of all the big chickens and stick with the little ones, like that would ever happen

my 1 year old duck is in jail for the next month or so he almost killed one of my chickens thinking he could mate with her. He so does not like being alone, but he has 7 little ducks that soon will be big enough to keep him company. Can't wait.

i had a pet duck called polly some years ago,i remember bringing her back in my car,perched on my lap she was,did a little wet poo,which i didnt mind coz poor thing was so excited being in a car

anyway sad ending for her,some wretched mongrel got hold of her and half ate her never got a bird after that,just too paranoid now incase it happens again but she lived quite a while with us,had her own swimming pool and toys.

Well, I used to help raise them commercially. 15,000 at a time. It was hard work but kept me and my brother of the streets and out of trouble! Believe it or not I would still like to have a couple of chickens just for fun! I live the last house in town but we can have farm animals in our little town. NO ROOSTERS though!

yeah roosters are a pain in da butt trust me,had a rooster used to wake us up in the crack of dawn,my husband got so fed up one day ,he said right im going to get him then you cook him later,i persuaded him not too coz i did find it a bit cruel,an animal you have kept for sometime will end up on the dinner table so Mr rooster had a few more months of frollicking before i ended up one morning saying to my hubby,go and get him i had enuf.................... it took a good while to catch the bugger coz i think he knew he had it coming,eventually by the time i got up,my husband had it all plucked and chopped ,ready for a nice chicken curry
